Closed Is there anyway I can recover a corrupted world file?

While I was in the middle of a game, my entire comp crashes and shuts down or something. When i reboot it back up, and try playing again, my charcter is still in tact. However my world is reset. My ship and all of its stuff is gone. I have no fuel. I had made it to the Gamma sector but i now only have access to Alpha. My home planet is pretty much lost because i dont have the coordinates,

Data can easily get corrupted if your computer crashes.

You got unlucky.

You can always backup your saves and if it happens again, you can recover it.

Like I said, doing backups is a nice way to recover your files if your computer likes to crash.

 

What I mean is, That I obviously knew my data somehow got corrupted.
I suppose I should have just cut to the chase and asked How I could at least recover the coordinates of my home base.

Also. Another reason I asked is because.. I've closed the game without saving once before, accidentally of course. No, my entire computer didn't shut down when it happened but regardless, it didn't reset my worlds and ship when i did that.

So I guess what I should have asked for is any existing solution that might lead to a recovery of what I had before. If that's SO Illogical for me to ask, then why is there a support fprum to begin with if im supposed to automatically have all the answers?

Lets see, due to your computer crashing and subsequently improper shutdown of Starbound while in use having caused your save data to be rendered NULL and re-initialized by the game itself. I've had this happen on my server with my Alpha planet. As of right now there is no chance of recovery of a corrupted save file or world file without intimate knowledge of Starbound's code. You'll just have to grind through it all again. Mind you thie is in BETA and expect crashes and the like to happen. Seriously read the launcher's friendly red capitalized bold text,
