I just started using the wires for switches and stuff, and i made an and switch for a door on my ship, but its big and ugly. any way to hide it?
The logic gates themselves are pretty big and take up a fair amount of space on the back wall of your buildings if you use them, I'm assuming that's what pinkie pirate wants to hide. However, as far as I know it can't be done.
Two-week necro, apologies, but wires can be any length, so construct your circuits out of sight and then run really long wires to them. It's how the missions do it On a ship, you may have to get a bit more creative (eg. using mods to build outside the boundaries of the ship)
All someone would have to do is de-wire the object that its wired to. it wont matter where the other end node is. Until someone comes up with a mod that offers wiring protection, all your precious wiring would have to be at the mercy of anyone who sees it or participates in whatever your wiring goals offers. That said, I'd like to see the official team work on something that can resolve this.
I should mention that one of the devs mentioned that he would like to redo the wireing system in the future so its on its own seperate layer that you can only see with a wire tool (hideing it when you dont have one in your hands). But its one of many "things they would like to do", who knows if it will actually be done.
