Is there a way to reset a planet?

    Those damn birds!

My starter planet is amazing, literally within a few yards of my spawn point there is a glitch wizard tower. I made the mistake of opening the door and not realizing birds are now insane airborne turrets of death and destruction .

Is there anyway to reset the planet or the overall game and delete my character?

    Thanks in advance!

In this folder there are many "file world". Every file is a planet. Find your file by name and delete it..
    done : D

If I record correctly, you need to delete the universe folder, that might reset the whole universe and your player. You can also search the universe folder for the .world file of your planet and then delete it, altho I'm not sure if that wouldn't end up with some bugs...
The folder I just said above is located in: \Steam\SteamApps\common\Starbound\universe

It works just fine to do as stated above, you don't need to delete the whole universe if you don't want, just find the planet and delete that. The character data is in the Player folder though your characters name isn't part of the filename, so if you have several, back it up first and play trial and error.

Actually, the .planet file will be named something like "sector_ x_y_<insert bunch of other info here>", where X and Y will be your X & Y coordinates in the ingame navigation system.
    Example: alpha_70316280_-98460081_-12419694_5_7.world is a planet located in (70316280 x , -98460081 y)

Thank you all! I deleted my player file and Universe file, was terrified of bugs after Arcebus.s warning.

But I'll do it the "smarter way" next time.... here's hoping there won't be a next time!

Grab a hold of the planet with your Spaceship hook and make it spin the opposite way.

This would likely start a bunch of 'planet duping' issues lol...

Planet has inventories full of bars, the player copies the file, then withdraws all bars onto ship inventory, quit, and paste the old file back in.

Never thought of that.... Why did you put that into my head... but I probably wouldn't do that mostly because it's bound to cause some kind of bug at this or a later stage of the beta.
