Is "the" Greenfinger canon in 1.0 ?

As of the latest version, it's been explained that a Greenfinger is a tribe's leader and reverse-engineering specialist.

But is the Greenfinger that is refered to in the previous versions' codexes still canon ? If no, is there still a Floran leader ? And what are the relations between Florans and other races ?
    --- Post updated ---
Also, will we get more codexes on the relations between species ?

Greenfinger is probably not a character anymore in the vanilla canon lore, however, my head canon states that Greenfinger existed long ago, he unified the Floran tribes and went to war against the Hylotl, after escaping the clutches of the Avians who tried to restrict the Florans to their home system. Later on, his descendants became influential in the now, once again divided tribes, earning the title of Greenfinger and having a position of significant authority within Floran tribal structures.

A.k.a: Greenfinger is like Genghis Khan.

    Yeah, that'd make sense.

OK, this is going to blow your mind.

Try examining the item "floran sandstone statue"

Apex note that the floran looks "suave" and "intimidating"

Avian say that it looks "more approachable than the usual"

    Humans call it...... "adorable"?

Glitch theorize that it "depicts a great Floran leader"

    GUESS WHAT FLORANS SAY!

    "Greenfinger. Ssspecial Floran. Sssmell funny."

    Boom, confirmed.

To be fair, the Floran PC has a...sketchy sense of grammar, so he could be saying that the statue depicts a Greenfinger instead of an individual named Greenfinger.

    That's sloppy game design.
Aka, that's NPC dialogue that existed before 1.0 ...
They just haven't cleaned it up properly.

I considered that too, but then I took a closer look at a couple of items and examination lines.

When florans examine a regular floran statue they say: "This ssstatue depictss the glory of the hunt" and when they examine a large floran statue they say "This sstatue repressentss the hunt, not a sspecific Floran." So it would make sense for a floran to make a statue representing a "generic greenfinger".

However, all Greenfinger NPCs wear an antler - like headress that is specifically called the "Greenfinger's Headress". However, the sandstone statue is bare-headed. Contrast this with the other two statues, which both hold spears and lack foliage (floran hair), which fits the idea of a "generic hunter".

I doubt a statue representing a "generic greenfinger", would leave out the Headress, which is the physical feature that sets Greenfinger's apart from other florans.

Also, even if this was an individual greenfinger but not "the" greenfinger, how would the floran PC know that? Coupled with the lack of Headress, theres also no inscription on the base.

Finally, all the other sandstone statues are recognised by their race as a celebrity or a mythological/historical figure. (Sometimes vaguely, which is why I say the statue lacks an identifying inscription.)

So this is either some dark souls level subtle worldbuiding, or I'm in denial and grasping at straws.

Eh, lets just hope that if it is just an oversight then they never fix it, because it weaves the "old" and "new" lores together in an interesting way.

In fact the only major change you would need to make to seamlessly merge the two lores would be changing Greenfinger creating the ruin to him simply studying it, trying to find a way to control and weaponize it and taking a sample which goes on to grow and destroy earth.

It's more likely that "THE Greenfinger" is no longer canon.
In terms of merging lores together, it'd be better if Greenfinger was a historical figure, like Kluex, but y'know more Gengish-Khan-like, as I mentioned before.
