this is an idea i would see no problems with but i do feel it would require the use of a specialized slot, possibly the sacrifice of an existing gear slot. I personally would like to see it as a belt (as a fan of terraria that never had belts) that would be upgradable without limitation - micro managing gear everytime you want to do something is rage inducing. best part is, all they have to do is make it a find in the science area of the space station.
I like the idea of a hostile environment possibly killing you if your not careful. You can mark planets and return to them, so if you find an uninhabitable planet, you should have to obtain proper gear to survive on them. Vanity stuff should cover ugly survival gear anyway so people shouldn't worry about that. Having to get the things you need to go to the places you want should be part of the progression of the game. You want to explore this ash filled magma planet? You need to earn the proper equipment to survive on it first. Setting, and achieving goals is more rewarding then going where ever we want whenever we want IMHO.
Exactly what I was thinking. Maybe you might need a suit initially, but then you can get a 'bunker-bubble' (just made that up) later on. It should probably be not QUITE as effective as a suit, though.
I would like it personally, its not the thing i see "It must be there!" But if there wouldnt be oxygen on planets and no oxygen on planets at least temperature reacting on character body would be nice..
Temperature is confirmed. Vanity items are also confirmed. I'm sure that armor will have random stats and mods, but not have the same visual variety as weapons.
If you are counting this - as i fear - in Celsius, it would be hard to breath since oxygen goes liquid on these temperatures.
I'd say; yes, it is! It's mostly an obstacle, but obstacles are part of the adventure and the more obstacles there are to overcome, the more there is to the gameplay and REASON to play game.
Well the makers of the game seem to agree with you... and honestly I kinda do to at this point Theres some cons, but they are outweighted by pros
Honestly, I am fine with the idea of everyone having to wear the same gear. It makes me feel like "Yes, we are finally at this point, let's kill this boss!"
