Is it just me?

well the dev arent under the obligation to flabbergast you away of the new terraria update.
releasing an unfinished game could have some big consequences and leave so people bitter.
not to mention the slew of idiots that will ignore the "unfinished" part of it (but thats another can of worm)

It does look like they are finishing up. However, I haven't heard much on the Novakid project they promised for beta (I think? maybe it was full release). That being said, don't get your hopes up too high, or your despair down too low.

 

Stretch goals are said to be projects which won't impact the game's release date negatively. Whether or not this applies to the beta, eh, who knows. Novakids seem like a full release thing.

 

I'm not getting my hopes up. In addition to all the UI and recipe stuff they're also talking about smartening up the AI and they developed a whole new physics system. So that's gotta be translating into bugs that need squashin.
