Is it just me?

Is it just me, or does this newest update feel like we're getting pretty damn close to the beta release?

..Lots of finishing up going on here...

..maybe just wishful thinking on my part?

And also.. what's with the beeeep at the end of the update?

Hi guys,
Today we worked on a few more UI bits and bobs.
First we made a culinary UI, which can be accessed from a food prep table and various kitchen counters style items.
It will be full of a massive amounts of food recipes. Food is divided into various categories like Entree, sides, snacks, drinks, desserts.



Each category of food will have it’s own use. You’ll also be able to place food in the world, should you want to lay a table.
It’s basic functionality, but we finally got around to making the number of slots in a chest configurable.


We’re putting the final touches on the options menu. Finishing up the final respawn animations and finishing up the avian intro.
Molly is throwing in a ton of food items to go with the cooking system.
And kyren has the ongoing task of increasing NPC intelligence.

Beep is the sound the microwave makes when my burrito is ready. Therefore, this can obviously only be interpreted as meaning they are ready to give us all ... a burrito?

 

I was thinking the same thing too. The last few days have been like UI improvements and item implementation, which seem like they would be fairly close to the end of the development cycle. I was literally just going to post a thread like this until I saw this one... Hahaha.

Actually, I was thinking the very same thing right after this update.

 

Glad everyone is happy. Just hope all turns well.

 

I can't help but feel that the quests are going to take a long time, and it sounds like they've only just finished one intro cinematic. I don't know if they want that to be finished for beta or not, but it might still be some time. I would expect them to announce a release date a while before it actually happens, too.

 

When does the Newsletter come out? The first of the month?

Perhaps we'll have an announcement of sorts.

Also, quests and the storyline are NOT in the beta, from what I recall

 

I had that impression also. They could very well be getting close to a beta release. I guess we will just have to be patient (which is really hard!)

 

Beep could also be an answering machine. Though could also be a microwave but don't they beep more than once?

Anyway I am looking forward to cooking so fun and weird dishes, like avian pussplum pie, yummiest.

It is also go to know that earth food can be found on other planets.

 

Good news! I hope you're right, since the quests are just icing on the cake for me.

Beeeep could also be related to the character generator Easter eggs?

 

Um guys.....Asuka appears to be in one of her um...moods. We should be nice to her.

 

I don't know if they're getting everything done but they're definitely getting stuff done. And I'm plenty happy with that.

("everything" pertaining to the beta at least.)

 

Does nobody not see the similarities?!? Beeeep has a 'b' and an 'e', as does the word beta. It also has two more letters. OBVIOUSLY that means beta is in two days!

Or 10 days if you add the e + e which is also 5+5, because e is the fifth letter of the alphabet.

ive been saying it for a while now but while the daily updates are great, i feel that they are giving people a false impression that things are going quickly and that the beta is very near even tho we have absolutely no point of reference as to the amount of work that has been done up to now/is still left to be done.
