Is it just me or is there much less reason to go underground?

Right now it's:
- Search Dungeons, Cities UPPER AREA
- Search Minibosses UPPER AREA
- Search Pirate ships UPPER AREA
- Farm Pixels UPPER AREA
- Search Ores UPPER/LOWER AREA

Next patch they're going to make it so you have to go underground to find the better rewards. That means at least at the planet levels 10,20,30 and 40 you'll have to dig down to find some better weapons from minibosses(if that's what they meant at least).
Not sure how that's supposed to work as monsters don't really drop anything of value right now and minibosses underground are much harder to find than at the surface. Perhaps they mean items inside the chests.

 

I once found a forest underneath a frozen planet. I wish it had dinosaurs.

Edit: They need to add dwarves.

 

Honestly I saw a biome underground that had tiny houses. Maybe there will be other 'unplayable races' that we'll encounter, just not right now. That would be interesting. Although I have already encountered such a creature. A frog bomb merchant. Underground. I swear once I get those coords I'm going to hunt for him again...

 

All I ever find is lava, I wish their was some type of ancient beast waiting for me in it
