Personally when I see Age of Space I think of some sort Contra graphics meets Starcraft. And it is, actually, pretty awesome, but those animations and block textures... ewww... :x

From what I've seen, Edge of Space is pretty different from what we know of Starbound. Yes, they're the same genre, it's not like comparing apples and oranges, but there are a few key differences.

Disclaimer: I have not played EoS and am not an expert in SB knowledge, and could very well get something wrong. Feel free to let me know if I make a mistake.

EoS: Each save takes place on a single planet. SB: Every save gives you a whole universe to explore.

EoS: You leave your planet on a specific mission. SB: You leave your planet to escape, whether from some ungodly horror or from an over-controlling society.

EoS: Monsters are all pre-designed. SB: Monsters are procedurally generated.

EoS: Has no story beyond what is initially learned, is more of a survive and thrive game. SB: Has a story.

The gameplay itself looks similar, but they are still fairly different games. EoS looks decent, though.

I can't remember the last time I saw such a blatantly dumb question on here. You'd think the OP is trolling.

No. They're separate games. I don't see why someone would think they're the same.

I agree. Personally I like the style they've adopted with Edge of Space. I think it allows for greater detail and more fluid animations than the stricter pixel art in other games like Terraria and Starbound. Given my 'druthers, though, I'd pick Starbound's art over EoS.

Let's put it this way. Starbound is actually a decent game. As for Edge of Space, eh...

The graphical side of things, they both have a huge difference. Yes, the concept the same, for them both being 2d sidescrollers but they are not even near similar overall.

Starbound isn't actually a game yet.

Technically speaking, it is. A full game? No. Released? No. It's still a game, actually.

What I was going for is you don't know if it's good as you haven't played it.
I still have no proof this isn't an amazing scheme to steal money (/sarcasm)
