Is anyone else having issues with missing crafting recipes?

After the last update, I lost everything on my ship and had my mission progress wiped, but I kept my character and everything on her, including a ton of higher tier stuff. It took me about 15 minutes to get back to Tier 5, but while going further, I noticed people mentioning a lot of recipes that I simply don't have.

Right now, I'm all the way up to tier 10, but I have no recipe to build the Survival System (which would allow me to explore airless environments) or the Portable Pixel Printer which supposedly allows you to make more effective bandages. Is anyone else having this issue, and is there a fix for it?

 

I'm thinking that the reason is because this last patch really SHOULD have wiped characters. Your issue is probably caused by the fact you didn't start a new universe, and probably won't be resolved until you do. I was also near the end of X sector when they introduced the latest patch, and I was tempted to keep my character, since that is a lot of progress to lose, however, I think doing a full wipe after a patch in Alpha/Beta is the smartest way to ensure you get the benefits of it.

 

Try rebuilding and reusing the engine/starmap upgrades, that usually opens up new recipies.

Only other route would be to make a new character, you can start a multiplayer server locally and just connect to 127.0.0.1 or somesuch, then meet up with two characters and transfer stuff. Remake first character and then meet up again. To do that simply have two Starbound instances running at the same time.

It would wipe your tech etc, but as OobleckTheGreen mentioned making a new character is the safest route.

You don't need to make a multiplayer server to share items between chars. Just put a chest down on a planet with the items in it, mark down the coordinates, then visit that planets with your second char and loot said chest.
