it seems as though, at least to me that the generation system was not what we were promised.

    1. The biggest ting for me is that we were promised randomly generated universe, worlds and every thing in the world; but instead we got one universe with cords that are pretty much mine craft seeds for the worlds with every thing being in the same spot/planet.
so mutch for having your OWN universe

    2. The mobs wow I have watched a few lps and at least once purr episode there is a mob that is just a reskin of a mob I had in one of my worlds; one was even the exact same. Not at all like they were advertising " you will never see the same mob twice."

    3. The guns are way to hard to find to complain about there gen system; but welly are they that op that some people do not find one even when they get to the x sector.

other than these thing I am loving the game and if we were not promised differently by the devs I would not be so upset!!!!

You do realise that seeds are the inputs to random number generators, right? RNGs are algorithms that produce numbers distributed randomly, but it will always produce the same set of numbers if given the same seed. Each world is random and (near enough) unique, and is built according to the distribution produced using that given seed. This is a good thing, it means that people can share worlds by simply sharing the seeds for the RNG.

this would be fine if the devs did not say that there will be randomly generated universes( plural meaning more than one)

it might be that I am taking that out of proportion but I am disappointed

I do NOT agree with you.

    1. The minecraft style of seeds is acceptable. If they add in a randomly generated universe option, I'd be thrilled as well. There are so many planets out there, it would be difficult to see all of them.

    2. mobs, i have no opinion on. They seem fine for this type of game. I wouldn't mind seeing larger mobs (twice as high, etc) though.

    3. I'm glad there is a slow progression up to guns. It wouldn't be fun if I could just play 2 or 3 hours and already have a top tier weapon.

I messed up i was going to putt yes/no 2 years, yes/no 1 year, yes/no 6 months, and yes/ no heard about it when beta came out

the thing is is that we were promised more than this

    The universe is already random.

Unless you mean you wanted a universe that you could put identical coordinates into and get a different set of stars, but that would just add another layer of seed numbers... but the universe is already so big that it's unlikely every system will ever be explored, so the idea of having your "own" universe with unique seed results is superfluous.

We weren't promised variations on universes.

so it is like being promised a beach but getting a one pound bag yes there is a lot but not what you were expecting

I believe it was always intended that we would have the same universe. That way we can share planets with each other.

Monster generation is a little hit and miss as you would expect from a random system. It dose manage a good verity though. I don't think I have seen the exact same creature twice. Though I have see creatures that are kind of close to each other on different planets. My critic about monster generation is that I wish it was a little less random. I'd like to see the shape and style of a creature being heavily influenced by the world. Something like slug legs are very rare outside of swamp or slim worlds well fur is very common in snow worlds. Also it's rather hard to guess what creatures are aggressive and what aren't based on looking at them. That could be worked on a little.

The gun thing I totally agree with. I find myself lucky for finding one gun by beta sector. They should be craftable and drop off NPCs who use guns.

no not really but what game never gives you its big, advertised weapon. that would be like not getting the spin jump in mario galaxy yes it is fun with out it but it is just not as fun

the thing is that is I took randomly generated universeS as to each his own

well I might just be roling 1,000,000's on a 1,000,000 sided dye every 20th time

The universe was created using a procedural generation system. As changes happen in updates things that effect the system make changes to those planets in each sector where needed. Planets are always the same for everyone, hence the sharing of coordinates.
