Hello Chucklefish, I've played Starbound with a few friends on a server and the following thing kept on happening: We often visit each others ships because we're traveling together, or to show off stuff that we found like those fancy instruments. However, sometimes when you get a new weapon, you want to see what it does, or if it has a special attack, you want to show that to a friend. We've found several NPC spawners, like the Chef and Medic one, but these NPC's swiftly died due to accidental attacks which one shotted the NPC's. To solve this problem I've got the following suggestions: -Give the owner of the ship a option to enable and disable invincibility on NPC's, by for instance removing their hitbox temporarily or just by changing their 'team' to the player side or maybe just a special unkillable NPC team. -Make player spawned NPC's by default invincible, this however can come with the annoying consequence that once an NPC has been spawned, they'll never leave. -Add a server setting in the config file to make player spawned NPC's invincible, giving the server host the possibility of enabling and disabling this setting for when a player wishes to... *Cough* Remove *Cough*.... An NPC from their ship or base. With kind regards, Cloutar.
PLEASE GOD YES. My troubles come to a day when i found my first gun. Hmm lets shoot it always because gun thats why, i was enjoying myself and my gun when bam beamed to my ship and dead npc >_>
ahaha same thing with my rocket launcher. Oh it makes me think about something : When you are not playing on fullscreen, and clic on the game's window to make it active again, if you hold a weapon in your hand it will actually trigger it. And I died multiple times while holding my rocket launcher T_T . it will also hit a spawned npc if he is standing there.
