Problem: It's difficult and time consuming to find and arrange things in one's inventory, ship locker and chests. Suggestion: Add a "sort" button. Preferably more than one, like the Minecraft mod NEI that will arrange things in columns and rows by type of item, but any sort functionality is better than none.
That would be awesome, along with the Sort Stacks button from Terraria for chests, so that you can put items that are already in a chest that are from your inventory into the chest without putting other stuff in it.
Maybe even go a step further and have a filter option so certain items always go in one bag and other go in the other bag.. That way, all the dirt/stone you mine goes neatly in one bag, and all your loot/ore/weapons go in the first one!
I totally agree with that idea. Shift+click will automatically put anything in another place, a container if it's open, your hotbar if it can, regardless of whether or not there's another stack of it available. The Sort Stacks button is probably my most used button in Terraria, and one feature Starbound needs to copy and hasn't yet.
I agree with the "Sort Stacks" button. I really miss that feature asaid from Terraria. Inventory sorting would be fine as well, but I'll use it mostly if storages would have it as well. I mostly sorting my inventory manually, so know exactly what to find where.
