Introducing the Resotek​

The Resotek are a race based on expanding their civilization, and have made this point well known through the universe. The Resotek have not gone unknown, and are actually a very infamous race. Instead of using their military strength for the good of others, they use it for the good of themselves and for galactic conquest. They are said to be one of, if not the most hated race to have existed.​

Galactic Involvement​

Resotek have made it their number one priority to rule the entire universe. Though it seems far-fetched, they are very dedicated to making this happen. Not very surprisingly, they've taken over 250 galaxies already, and their inhabitants are either slaves or dead.​

​

Despite being over 40 millennia old, the Resotek refuse to change their cultural ways, apart from interstellar travel. They may seem like mindless barbarians, but they don't just go in guns blazing. Resoteks love planning ahead, which is what usually makes them so successful. Weaker galaxies go first, and are colonized by more Resotek for their ever growing intergalactic conquest of domination.​

Resoteks aren't invincible, after all. They've been defeated countless times. The Battle of Brydex was the greatest war that the Resotek have ever been involved in (resulting in a loss.) The Resotek, thinking Brydex was at a rather vulnerable position, attacked without hesitation. The war ended after two months, when the Resotek were forced to retreat. They lost over seven million men, and took about four million Brydex inhabitants down with them. Needless to say, Brydex is the most hated and sought after planet by the Resotek. After Brydex's victory, it was considered to be one of the greatest superpowers in the universe.​

Krataco​

Krataco is the 'breeding grounds' for the Resotek, and most of the ones born on the planet don't return unless they're relieved from duty. Most female Resotek return to Krataco for reproduction purposes after they are relieved (And that's their choice!)​

The planet completes a full revolution around its sun in six-hundred-twelve days, while one day is twenty-four hours.​

Society​

The Resotek get along with their own race very well, and despise everyone else. Arguments aren't considered arguments, but debates. Both male and female Resotek are of equal social class, and have equal rights, even if it is hard to come across.​

An infant's occupation is chosen at birth, whether it be a soldier or a carpenter, regardless of gender. Most newborn Resotek are chosen to be a soldier. By the age of 35 (Years based on Kataco's revolution around its sun), Resoteks can be reassigned to another occupation. Mainly, Resotek work for their entire lives, except infantry and when they are elderly. Some men do in fact stay on Krataco to tend to their families.​

Diet​

The Resotek eat pretty much anything they can get their hands on, but were actually first herbivores. Their mouths and 'teeth' are literally created for chewing fruits, vegetables and plants. Resoteks seem to disregard this completely, and consider themselves to be omnivores. Eating creatures raw gives an example of the Resotek's brutality. They can also turn to devouring their enemies after an intense battle.​

Biology​

Resotek tend to have a wide variety of different styles of teeth. They are outside of the mouth in most cases, but there are instances where they're not. Teeth are the pride and joy of a Resotek, and for one to lose their teeth, they lose their lives. If you want a mate, you're going to need your teeth, and if you want to be accepted pretty much anywhere in the Resotek community, you're going to need teeth.​

Their two eyes are used pretty much only for seeing. The largest eye is the toughest, and is commonly mistaken as the weakest point of a Resotek's body. In fact, the heart is the most vulnerable point. Resotek are prone to blindness. It's very common, and most blind Resotek learn to work their way around, despite their disability.​

​

Their skin is made of a tougher material than human skin, and can be compared to a crab or a lobster's exoskeleton. Resoteks have fragile bones that can be broken fairly easily, and isn't considered a weakness to them. Their bone structure is very similar to a human's, other than having extra ribs and a slightly larger skull.​

​

Reproduction is, like all species, one of the most important things a Resotek can do. Like humans, Resotek reproduce by sex organs (I'm not going into detail. You get the picture.) The time it takes for a male to impregnate a female is around three to four hours, mostly depending on age. Resotek are not mammals. After three weeks of impregnation, the female releases a large soft-shelled 'egg,' which is sometimes referred to as yolk. The egg is protected by both mother and father until the outer layer of the shell hardens. After the outside is hardened, the child begins to form inside, which usually takes five to six months. The child then hatches, and is raised like a normal child would be.​

And of course it leaves a white outline around it. Don't know what happened there, but just ignore it please.

Technology​

The Resotek have refused to change their old ways for many generations, and they remain 'stuck' at one stage of technology. This stage in technology is the 'Revolutionary War' stage. From muskets to flintlocks to black powder and fuse. Humans have made a strong impact on the Resotek, and much weaponry is inspired by them and their ways. Although still developing better and more efficient ways of creating weapons and ammunition, everything the Resoteks have is almost always aesthetically the same. Repeaters and hand-cannons have been developed, and more weapons are still being researched, but they all remain the same, as is tradition.​

Interspecies Relations​

It's no secret that the Resotek are one of the most hated races in all of existence. They have made some really bad first impressions in countless places, and haven't actually met any of the races they encounter, nor do they plan on it any time soon. Any Resotek that actually meet other species are in the Resotek's navy, while intellectuals are stuck on their birth planet, studying the planet's plant life or recording history. Any attempts to communicate with the Resotek has resulted in failure, and usually death. Eventually, someone will attempt to make a better impression on the universe.​

I love pirates

 

I actually love your "terribly embarrassing art." Reminds me of Another World/Out of this World style graphics. I'll agree this isn't sufficiently fleshed out, but I'll upvote it in hopes of getting more info. Sounds cool so far.

I'd like to make an early suggestion, though. Subtlety. "

mad lust for control and power above other beings" sounds a bit like hyperbole. Besides, having subtlety and diversity make stories more interesting.​

 

I like the idea of space pirates, and do be proud of your art. It's good, I like it. Keep it up!

I'm still writing out all the details, but I'll update soon. I promise!

 

Added a small portion to diet, as well as information on their society and Krataco.
Made a sprite or two, and added a bit of 'art' as well.

 

Reminds me of the Grox from Spore. Not sure if I think they should be playable or not, but 7 races is an awkward (or odd) number, and 8 feels more solid of a number.
And this seems like the most plausible 8th race iv'e seen, nicely done!

 

Novakid are Western-themed, think space cowboys.

Added an interspecies relations section, along with biology, teeth variations and another piece of art.

 

i would like to say that this is one of the only original races on this site i've seen, there's cat people, dragon people, bug people etc. this is the first real alien i've seen on here, congrats! i also like the skull setup and importance of teeth, also the idea of crab like chitin makes me more than a little afraid (i'm a deckhand on a dredge boat) i've encountered rock crabs i (i'm like 250lbs) can stand on and have trouble smashing without stomping them so this is something i personally find scary as hell. also the idea of tough eyes interests me in their visual acuity.
