Actually... I was wondering on that... Is the "Apex" the Official Ape Race Name, or are the "Apex" & "Apes" 2 separate Playable Races...? Clarification on this from the Devs would be cool.

Ya forgot to point out the Circle Windows that seem to have Electricity in them that were to either side of the Apex Head Pic Monitor Screen thingie. Still a good Vid.

Well, the apes race was never actually confirmed, so I'm guessing that the Apex is the only Ape race. Also, when the avians were introduced I think they called them the first revealed race.

 

Probably decore with a small cycle animation between different electricities

OR a power for wiring

There was no mini kong in the Donkey Kong series. There was a Kiddy Kong.

Also, I wonder if this race has some kind of Saiyan reference in game. If so this is my race. Or Ape of Death (The boosh)

 

I don't know about you guys, but I'm rather disappointed at how Starbound's alien races, so far, have been heavily based off of Earthly creatures and cultures.

 

They're getting the "main" races in first before adding some more "alien" races.

hopefully something completely out there.
Like something with a slim body, covered with a long exoskeleton, with a razor sharp tail as long as it is... and a banana shaped head.
Thats the most unique alien race I've ever heard of

 

they seem to be following an animal theme. here's hoping for a reptilian race.
maybe simply call them saurians (yeah cliché i know)

 

Here's hoping that they do bring in some truly alien concepts.

 

No one else noticing that acid keeps leaking? Wont the acid pool overflow eventually?

 

Notice that all of the races so far have similar body types. This way the devs don't have to create unique armor for each race yet. I'm sure that race-unique armor is in the plans, but so far Humans, Avians, and Apex seem to all be able to wear the same armor.
