Introducing Nightshade :3

A Little Introduction...
Well... I'm no artist... and I know I have no chance winning against some of the entries here but I've chosen to do a quick little sketch just for fun anyway of Nightshade (named after the Belladonna plant).
If I were to properly make a digitalized version of Nightshade, then I would probably colour it in Purple and Black for the body and then Green for the ivy vines and the leaves around the face.




Moves...
Nightshades are not a friendly type of cat, regardless of looking irresistible to pet. After being evolved from a huggable domestic cat into a Nighshade, these cats have become feral... loathing the sight of humans - having a desire to attack or/and to use it's charms to lure players whenever in reach..

Nightshade has a poisonous coat, which when in contact with the character, can inflict poision damage.. (eek!!)
Despite Nightshades trying to play it cool and enchant the players with it's cute charms, they actually have an ivy leaf and vine attached to their left leg, which can swipe/whip/trip the player.. inflicting further damage and delay!

The other attack Nightshade has is biting, which hopefully none of you come across

I was also considering maybe having an attack where the Nighshade could walk up in front of the player, then having its back sticking up in anger/fear briefly, with its hair standing straight up, then it suddenly disappears... (making a "poof" noise) ... Leaving behind a sort of mini poisonous cloud, that lingers when the cat vanished, remaining there as a deterrent for a couple of seconds. It's hard to explain it without sketching it out.. sorry it's so awful...




A Mini-Back Story...


It was a fine mid-summers day when Earl Donoghue decided to let out with Kitten, Helix, play outdoors for the first time. It was such a happy moment for the Earl who came to love his Kitten dearly, in a way, Helix filled in a void after the Earl tragically lost his wife Claudia a few weeks prior. Helix loved to give the Earl regular snuggles and cuddles, but his big adventure into the outdoor world proved more dangerous then first expected...
"Meeeeeeeeeeeeeeew!!" There was a sound of desperation coming from outside as the Earl quickly dropped his the plates he was cleaning in the Patio and rushed outside to where the sound was coming from..... "Helix, HELIX?!" There, on the cluttered ground he found Helix, somewhat discoloured and with an ivy leaf which refused to come off.. In the corner of his eye, the Earl noticed a sudden dark movement, but it was long gone by the time he had a chance to get a proper look.

After giving Helix a bath and a big cuddle it was time to go to bed. From that moment on the Earls life was going to change. Helix overnight went through many different and complicated mood phases, one minute he was angry, the next he felt calm and collected. Then, all of a sudden, Helix's fur became uneven and grew out into a purple haze, he then found that an ivy vine grew out from his paw and felt little shaken, but as he evolved into this poisonous creature, Helix instantly remembered the very incident outside, which made him become this new form of cat..

There he was, playing in the flowers, chewing off the heads and devouring any insects he could find.. Then an unfamiliar being came along and injected poor Helix with a special subsistence that is supposedly meant provide animals, cats in particular, with extraordinary powers. This unfamiliar being had been attacking multiple cats from across the globe, without anyone knowing. It was when Helix was trying to get some rest after his evolution when he heard the words... "Come now, fellow Nighshade, it is time...."

I like it! I think it's a cool idea, and it would work on some people, especially Tiger. She is helpless before cats!

Kitty! Lemme just abduct the thing and keep it as a pet (even if I'll have to wear some kind of protective suit to avoid getting poisoned)

Agreed! it's too difficult to resist, I'd have to snuggle it, even if it meant death.

 

I assure you that no Nighshade has been harmed in the making of this submission! They're just a little sad when they have nobody to cuddle but themselves

A very interesting idea. I like the route you are taking this and hope you can give it some more background details.. Are there different species of Nightshades and etc... :0 Good luck!

I given a little back-story now, which hopefully explains how Nightshade has come about. I just did the story from the top of my head, so if it sounds confusing let me know and I'll go over it

It looks so sad, like it's depressed that everyone who tries to pat it ends up getting hurt lol

 

Hey Becca, things sounds good, good job. The only thing I would suggest would be to add more depth in the habitat area, more on the attacks and such... It sounds like it could be extremely in depth and I'd love to hear more about it Let me know if you need some help.

 

Thanks aiMarz! I really appreciate your feedback, as this really is the first time I've ever tried doing something like quite like this! Hmm.. I see what you mean about needing to be more in depth about the habitat area and attacks.. but I'm finding it a little tricky..

 

And it usually is. *lol* Too me a couple days on my entry and develop some of the ideas, and what a pain in the butt it was. I'll try and think up some ideas that might be able to strengthen The Nightshade up a bit. Last day to do anything to it
