I think it would be awesome if starbound had a little bit more RPG elements, here are some examples: Introduce Skills for cooking, smithing, crafting and maybe hunting( you could even skin animals for armor materials instead of the system now: kill with a specific weapon and you get different loot) An increase would bring benefits like new recepies and/or you need less materials Introduce a Reputation system: if you attack a Glitch basis, maybe other glith hear about it and don't like you anymore, or you can by armor from other races if you have a high enough Reputation A new slot for for a glove, whih woulf give a raise to different stats (melee attack/ range attack/ health etc) It would be awesome if there were bonuses for wearing a different armor set (+Armor or health etc) Also: fishing!! Really,no.My point is that it would turn it into a World of Warcraft,where you can't do something because you can't do something.In a Sandbox,you do everything you physically can without limitations other than the world rules.Given the weapon system,Terraria feels already enough RPG for what it is,the point is that your character shouldn't need to take a 8 years degree course to build a starmap.
you got a point there, but in starbound you have different races, and so I think it would be awesome if there would be different interactions with them, dependend upon your race.
Well there are different dialogs but it should stop here.I wouldn't like to be blocked from doing something because I'm whatever race.I'd feel offended,also I'm not gonna make a new character for this.
These are all good ideas, and judging by terraria and minecraft, they will almost certainly all become mods at some point.
I know that the daolog is different, butevery race has a dialog like " there were some X by here just now, you can imagin how that went" implicating that they aren't that friendly to each other.
Let's keep racism and interspecie wars off Starbound.I'd hope for a game that doesn't require ethnic persecutions to be entertaining.
I know what you are trying to say, but its just fantasy. it would bring the starbound universe to life if everything isn't just puppies and kittens. I mean the ape species are basicly sowjet style communist, and the flower people are philosophing how i wwould taste right in front of me
And you can't tell me that the glitch won't feel any resentement versus their creators who kept them like slaves
