Interesting images.

Upon doing some generic snooping into the Starbound Game Files, I discovered a couple images under \assets\ships\human, which I decided were share-worthy with the Forums.

I have not experienced either of those two images above myself, nor have I heard of others documenting them. In-game, at least.
Along with those two, there is a series of four separate images:
....dropshipBL
....dropshipBR
....dropshipUL
....dropshipUR

These four images appear to fit into a larger, singular image, seen below;

It is also worth noting, later in the same folder, block placements of the concepts above are stated. The large image directly above, in the block placement layout, is referred to as "station".

So, what do you all think of these images?
Assuming I am not being silly and just missing an already implemented game component, that is.
(But if I am, feel free to yell at me for it.)

Post-Statement: After overlooking these images before posting the thread, I have noticed that they would appear to be capable of holding multiple individuals. I have not tried out Multiplayer yet, so I guess I should ask... Are these implemented and present in Multiplayer?
(A quick scan of the wikis yielded no information on the subject.)

 

Tiy did say he was upgrading the size of the ship, which may explain the second image.

Unsure about the first, and the third looks like some kind of space station, which would be an awesome addition. I think he said something about ship battles, maybe that's what they're relating to? I know there's other unimplemented things sitting in the game files, so perhaps this is one of them.

 

That does sound like a possibility.

By the way, it would appear that this is still a Work-In-Progress; I checked the other relevant folders only to discover that 3/5 of them included a dropship file set.

(Human still appears to be the most developed race thus far on the ship upgrades front, though, so you guys aren't really missing out on anything with those other files.)

 

The first image is the old version of the human ship. The third image appears to be the space station that each player was going to have before they replaced it with the ships.

 

There was also talk of space station dungeons floating about around various planets. Could this be one test idea maybe?

 

The second one is the scrapped idea of modular spaceships.

 

The first and second pics are the old ship designs, they scrapped those and went with the new nicer ships we see in game now.

 

Whatever it is, that third ship - I WANT IT. I hope that, maybe, when you can explore outside the planet in your ship you will be able to find and take over these. Maybe you could park multiple ships there, so it could become a huge multiplayer hub. It would certainly bring multiplayer communities closer together.

 

The 3rd ship is the space station.

Originally the idea was that your smaller ship was a dropship that'd ferry you to planets, while the station served as a hub of operations where you'd hire staff, research new blueprints etc. The station idea was (mostly) scrapped, but instead we got NPC spawners to creating staff NPCs to populate planetside bases or your spaceship, while the idea of upgradable ships will be making a come-back.The largest upgrade ships seem to have as much interior space as the station
