Interacting with stuff while the inventory is open. Also: window position

Just a small suggestion (and I hope I'm in the right subforum for this):
I'd like to be able to place blocks and seeds while my inventory is open for fast accessing different kind of seeds.
Also I'd like to see the inventory window 'remember' it's last opened position on screen, so one wouldn't have to move it again and again.

My apologies if something like this is possible in the current build of the game, and I missed it.

Seconded. I hate having to move my inventory everytime I open it.

Agree 100% - the inventory window does remember where you left it unless you open a container / crafting table, and those open right in the middle too. Inventory should open centrally and it would be a success for users if there was a choice for users to open other windows as "Central, Right, Left or bottom" for example.

Was just about to create a topic on this.. Window position persistence ftw!

Agreed, but, as OP seems unaware, you can use anything in your inventory by simply grabbing it and clicking. If you want to till soil, just grab your hoe and click the ground and then place it back in your inventory, no need for hotbar. Same for placing seeds or using weapons.

Furuka is right. You don't have to place items on your hotbar to use them, contrary to what every let's player ever seems to think.

I ditto the issue with the inventory remembering position. It seems like everything resets it to the middle. While it makes sense to have it in the middle when you open a chest, maybe it would be nice if you didn't have to manually move it back to the side after every time you open one. I liked the position of the inventory in Terraria, since it was out of the way enough for you to use things from it without having to click and drag it all the time. Maybe I'll just get used to the way it is, though. Only time will tell.
