So, you know instruments, right? How you can play all these lovely songs right? Well, if you said no, you have it right. Instruments are currently very limited to their ability. Sure, you can download new songs through the abc notation system, but still, not many people have the patience for that. Also, it's strange that the instruments can't play music from starbound itself. For example, the instruments cannot play the background music from the outpost, or the ruin boss fight music. Instruments can play songs from wonderlust battle, stardew valley, and even Christmas music from IRL, but they cannot play music from the game starbound itself! Devs, if you are reading this, please, please, please add this. What songs specifically? Well, I think there should be some sort of unlocking system. I mentioned this being a rework, so stay tuned. So once you have obtained your first instrument, SAIL of course will give you a message. This is how it works: When you have obtained an instrument, while an instrument is in your inventory, it will gain songs from starbound itself once you hear them with the instrument. So say, if you obtained a trumpet from the erchius mining facility, when you go back to the outpost, you will immediately learn the outpost music. You will be able to play that music. The more songs you hear, the more songs are added. Songs that exist now should mostly be removed, but some should stay. To get those ones that already exist, you would have to do something special( like if you collect from crops 50 times, you get the grandpa's theme music added). This would only go for a certain instrument, so if you get a different instrument, you will have to learn those songs again for that instrument only. However, if you play your instrument that you had before you go the new one, there is a 5% chance that you will learn the song on you new instrument after the song you are playing is COMPLETE. Also, the collection of instruments is sorta incomplete. Here are some that should be added: Trombone Baritone Eucephelone French Horn Tuba Bassoon Recorder Cello Viola Ukulele Castanets Cowbell Triangle Placeable instruments should be added, too. However, once YOU the player place it down, hearing songs automatically sends them to that instrument. However, most, like the bass, will work like normal with song learning. It's just that whenever you wanna play, you have to place it down and pick it up again. It would be great to have an instrument that could play the original songs without having an entire troop of people with instruments
I really like the concept of having instruments that you can place and then play upon lounging. Kind of a mixture of the interactAction being loungable and playing the instrument. Not sure exactly how a UI of that would function - unless it just leaves the songbook open when lounging on said object?
I suggest also to add like 3 / 5 seconds delay when playing as a band after clicking " play " button, in order to have enough time to close the tabs and record

What about a radio object that plays music on it's own? Upon placing it, it could open the songbook, and then the song you select is bound to it. From there it could act like any other radio object, but it would play the music you selected instead. If you wanted to change the music, you would just need to pick it up and set it down again.
