Not everyone drinks coffee. I drink an absurd amount of coffee; but those people that don't drink coffee? They've come up with some good substitutes. Like Earl Grey, Charob, and hot cocoa. On top of this, there might be a dozen other alien things that none of us have heard of. The coffee pot seems to be pretty limited in its scope right now. Maybe tea leaves, cocoa beans (you know they're coming anyway), and distantly even Charob beans could be introduced as farmable crops; and the coffee maker could make something with them as well? (tea, cocoa water, charob drink). Then perhaps the end result could be combined with citrus oil for Earl Grey, milk for hot cocoa, and so forth? It would definitely liven up the coffee maker.
Personally, I am violently addicted to caffeine. I think they should add more variety to coffee itself, but adding a variety of brewable beverages would be much welcomed. Perhaps something including bananas, for my people...
You should be able to put 10 healing water in the coffee maker and get a more potent version of healing water.
Lightbulb: If you have coffee beans and a liquid, such as Alien Juice or Healing Water, you should be able to make special variations of coffee. Edit: If you have coffee beans and milk at the Coffee Maker, you could make a Latte. Coconut Milk would also be an acceptable coffee accessory. Alien Juice would make Strange Coffee or Alien Coffee that would give the normal bonuses applied by drinking coffee with a Random Effect.
I think the proposed distillery would probably be better for increasing the potency of healing water. Look it up (sorry, no URL on hand) and vote for it. Now, healing water and coffee..."miracle coffee"?
Could even add in Hazel Nuts and Vanilla Bean to make the respective flavors of coffee, for the discerning Starbounder.
While I do agree that there should be more liquids, I think a coffee maker can only make coffee. Perhaps a tea kettle for tea, coffee maker for coffee, etc. I seriously doubt a coffee maker could make tea
