What about Server-Accounts, so you can't cheat offline and get your cheated/modified items on a server ?

 

Yessss more hats and a wipe to end all wipes (Hopefully) can't wait.

 

I'm not sure why you make a promise that you will not do anything that would cause a wipe since the game still has so much to be done... for me it seems like an artificial restriction for you guys to do what has to be done in order to make the game ready. And if you've followed the forums you'll notice that many people are in the opinion that game has a huge way to go still. So in my humble opinion you shouldn't make any promises that restrict you from making anything you see necessary for the game in this stage.

It's not your fault that you wipe the characters, it's our for wanting to play early beta (or as some say: alpha) and we'll need to put up with it.

This is still in Beta expect you char and all your stuff to get reset until they release the game as a finished game. Im not caring much just roll with punches and start a new guy.

Maybe the changes that are left to be made will not require a complete wipe of your character. Maybe they can make changes to items even if they're already in your inventory or your ship. Maybe they'll take away items as they see fit. Maybe...

 

You are playing a Beta you will always have wipes after betas you never should expect to have your char and all your goodies after you leave a beta. So to say you are not going to get wiped again is silly. Just expect it so we don't have to hear the crying later.

 

SOOOOO - This final wipe, which ive been looking forward to for ages, will have a save fix.
Does that mean it will automatically keep my new characters now? No save file manipulation needed etc etc?

No no no, the whole point of this being "the final character wipe" is this. You remember when they made "amazing idea that changes the way characters or ships work" right? Those changes would result in a character wipe. Now, they are changing it so that these amazing changes you speak of wont result in character wipes ever again.

I guess another 2 months of buggy multiplayer hosting is expected

well i for one hope they prioritize..already over 1million sales, which means that about 100k people cant play the game atm.. "at some point" just isnt good enough. as much as i like the game, had they be kind enough to release this information before the game was released, i (and any other leftie) wouldnt have bought the game at this point.
and if they decide not to fix this very soon, at least they should put up some kind of notice on their steam page.. its not like you go searching for information about whether key binds is an available feature or not.
