Info about the upcoming patch!

Am mucho excited for the new release. Team Starbound are doing a great job Keep it up guys.

 

I was hoping the release was going to come out over the weekend... but alas, this update shall be codenamed: 'You'llHaveToTakeASickDaySoYouWontRuinYourLifeStayingUpLateAsYouGetUpAt4InTheMorningAndYouDontGetHomeUntil70YourJobIsNotCompatibleWithVideoGames"

I cannot wait for this release either.

 

And there i was, actually thinking about taking a Sick Day...

I'm kinda Ashamed of myself now.

Okay. I'm actually getting impatient now.

At this point I'm feeling like they're just holding it back to see how crazy we'll get while we wait and the tension builds.

About 1-2 Days to go. - Even though i was hoping for the 7th of January.

im expecting tues / weds next week earliest as if it was ready to go first thing monday (they want to be around to make sure it does not just go BANG
then they would have fired it up for the weekend (maximum stress test oppourtunity)
But hey what do i know lol im just a website developer not a game dev WHOLE different kettle of fish

Man, I already had to take a sick day, so I'm scewed.

 

Well, consider the Update as your Reward after you come Home from Work.

I always say to myself "Wow, Tomorrow is Monday, that Means i only need to work for 6 Days and then i can do nothing productive on Sunday!"

 

I still have hopes it will be released either later today or tomorrow. GIMME MAH PATCH!

 

The news update says it was released Tuesday the 14 but this post was released Monday the 13?

Could someone explain pls? Because I want to know if a week Tuesday or Monday. But we know it's just an estimate but I am just anxious.

This, of course, is clearly false. (lol)

 

I gotta say I get a huge kick out of the fact that people want to flame me so hard about crusading for a feature that was teased as being worked on over a month ago, a simple to add feature, that affects a great many people. An industry standard feature for a long time now...

And yet the last two days we have all these people who whine about the patch not being out yet. And no one dares flame them.

They said "about a week" last week Tuesday. And yet there are people here who actually thought it could have come out last Friday. Or today. That wasn't even a firm promise. It was just when it may be done. It may take longer. And yet look at all these impatient people, whining like young children.


Yet the feature I'm complaining about. Tiy actually teased it on DECEMBER 11th. Over 5 weeks ago.

See it for yourself. So there was every reasonable reason to think that it may have come in an upcoming patch. Tiy showed a work in progress on it that appears to be nearly complete. THREE PATCHES AGO.


It is, as I already have shown, a trivially easy thing to add. I don't care if you want to argue with me about that, you don't know what you are talking about.

it affects a substantial minority of people. A minority, sure. But a substantial minority.

It was officially teased as being close over a month ago. 3 patches ago.

Still no sign of it.


I actually got to talking to a guy on another forum recently. A man who had an accident when he was young, and lost the use of some of his fingers on one hand.
He cannot play games at all without keybinding.

He pre-purchased this game. He literally cannot even play it at all. And no one gives a crap, because it works fine for them. Because they are selfish, and don't
care about problems that affect other people.


No I won't shut up about it until it's actually in the game. It's become inexcusable for it to NOT be in the game by this point. They could have done it (via config file editing) about ten times over already. It is EASY TO DO, and the devs are in denial and just dismissing it out of hand because they have not actually considered how important (or even necessary) it is to SOME people.

DON'T lecture me about early access. I was beta testing games and software when some of you were in diapers. This is a key part of such testing. Feedback about features, and making developers realize their arrogance in dismissing things that are actually important.

STOP assuming that everyone uses WASD or can adapt.

STOP saying that 3rd party tools are effective or useful, when they are not. Even in the best circumstances they make text chatting impossible.

STOP defending Chucklefish as perfect and flawless every step of the way. They are wrong on this. It should be a higher priority.


PUT KEYBINDING IN THE GAME.

 

Keybinding would be cool!
