Info about the upcoming patch!

That happened to me too! Oh well, worth it, though it's a shame I'm not going to be using the wiring tool for some time now.
Off hand though, they need to include an options menu in the main menu! And allow for the deletion of your characters!
I'm also hoping they edit the shipworld files, maybe allow for higher tiered ships to keep your things on to protect from universe wipes, or allow for the building of a space station. I lean more on the former, because it just seems easier to do and i really want to have a viable starbound base. Eh, see what I did there?

 

Well this IS beta and it says to expect char and world wipes right on the launcher and steam page.............
If you dont want to deal with wipes, wait till the game is published as a final product.

 

Wont this have a big impact on the already sprawling mod community, not that i mind the effort but i think larger updates would be better. Whatever's better for the developers is fine with me

I think he meant he's tired of waiting for the wipe to happen, which would mean next phase of Beta and the final character wipe. I know I'm tired of waiting.

 

I don't understand why people are reluctant to trust that the developers are working as hard as they can, though.
I would love for the patch to be out, and I am also abstaining until it is, but it isn't like complaining will make the patch come out any sooner.

 

I can and will wait patiently. The game's already awesome, and you all knew going in to the beta gameplay that you would NOT be able to keep your things indefinitely, that's a part of the thing that makes it a beta to begin with. If you're not prepared to lose your progress, wait for the game's final release.

There are even free(!) programs out there to re-bind your keys on a normal keyboard. Unfortunately I don't have any links atm, but google might help. Just don't fall for any fishy stuff or something like that.

 

New game modes! Permadeath and drop-everything-on-death modes.
Fear of being killed that is Just what I needed! Kind of like nuzlocke, you get more attached to something if you can loose it.

I used to hate that... (things like permadeath)
than I have start to play survival game... Don't starve... Unreal world (survival/rogue game)...
risk of rain (it is not survival but... die = game over) and now I really want that mode...

For the bind key well...
personally I don't care because I am used to those controls...
but still... I understand those who scream because of that
because not being comfortable is annoying... and doing some bind key is not
really hard long. Not doing that more quickly is definitely a mistake.

But well...
you have to live like that until they decide to create the damn keybind.
There is some solutions about that so take them if you can.

I think the post is a bit confusing and I didn't quite understand it.

Does the immediately upcoming patch (the one the patch notes are discussing in detail) include the last character wipe or is it the patch after this upcoming patch?

 

Exactly that's the confusing part to me.

There is also the highly bla bla final character wipe.

"There is also -in addition to the patch just discussed-, this other patch and that patch includes the character wipe?!"
I understood the word also as "in addition to what I just said there's also this other thing and this other thing includes the character wipe"

Sorry if I'm thick, I'm not a native speaker maybe I'm just missing some intricacy of the English language here.
