Info about the upcoming patch!

I love all the bitching about wipes, they stated this very clearly that they were going to, so your argument is redundant. READ THINGS. My one qualm is the fact that it has been 3 weeks (yes a holiday break) and nothing at all has been done really as far as I can tell by the Dev team as far as new content is concerned. I mean guards now display what? The uniform properly? some more decorative hats?.... I hardly think that warranted 3 weeks of work trying to patch. Yes I will clarify i know it is holiday season. But why wait to release the game at this time if you weren't going to put effort into the patches from day one. To me and a few people I know personally, who have followed this game from day one find this utterly disappointing from the Devs. Again I know it is Beta, but it has all just seemed half assed since it was released.

 

I want to be able to play a Bunny because in the game you can achive a Bunny statue,

 

They've been working on the game for quite a while now, and I suspect that with the December release the end of the year has been quite the rush for them. Can't blame them for taking a break when things appear to go smoothly (1M sales, w00t!). It's probably a big, deep relief sigh before going back to business.

 

Honestly if you guys are SO upset about the wipes, dont play the game until its finished.

It says right on the Steam page and on the launcher

"CHARACTER WIPES EXPECTED"
after all, this is beta. beta means IT IS NOT FINISHED.
Let the devs do what they need to do and just suggest content for the game.

 

World wipes will probably still be happening, so you aren't out of the woods just yet.

 

You want hotkeys? Go to the store and buy a gaming keyboard instead of flaming this forum.

 

I would really like this patch to include something for those of us who would want to make our ships mobile bases. That way, in the case of a Universe wipe, we aren't totally screwed over.

I've had a rough time of things for a few weeks and I've not been myself.

I apologize. I clearly over-reacted. Yet still, I desperately want to see proper keybinding in this game. It ruins the experience for me. Authotkey is a subpar solution.

Seriously ruins the experience. Also the damn mic bug. Makes it impossible for me to stream or make videos. I know it doesn't affect many people, but I think we have clearly established it is not just something about a few our our headsets. It's something that affects enough people to be noteworthy.

I am sorry for my rant. I just was so excited to stream and make videos for this game, and I can't in the current state of things. And the lack of priority on something so simple has hotkey binding is absolutely infuriating. Especially being continually dismissed by people who don't have the problems, so they don't care.

Im so excited to start shoving things into my 3D printer again . I can finally do so without fear of losing them in my quest to harvest every item they put in the game!

 

So, I have one question, when the Characters are wiped, will it also wipe Ships, and Planets?

great to see some progress again.

 

From what I understand, this next patch will wipe everything. After that, your character and ship will be safe. However, planets might get wiped if they need to update the biomes or code for them.

I'm gonna use the 'Drop Items' option for sure, you haven't played hard games if you think Starbound is hard, what's stopping you from killing yourself when you're in a deep ass cave? Pixels that you can grind through? Big deal, at the begginer stage you don't need these anyway, so, not having the urge to kill yourself to travel faster is great.

 

Even more, in other games like starbound, you can turn on/off and option to disable "hunger", i asked before purchasing the game and "that person with the pig avatar" said "you will be able to disable hunger".... well, if vanilla does not include said option, the game will be dead for me but since is in development, maybe theres hope... aside from that, devs should consider puting easy modes as well as hard modes making the game painfully dificult, will frustrate a lot of people like "monster hunter" style, even the bosses are such a joke some people think they are easy, but in vanilla, when you spawn the bone dragon is nearly imposible to defeat him because in lessthan half second, you are dead even with the best armor available in that tier, the same happens with all the bosses except the jelly monster and the penguin ufo/ovni.

 

Looking forward to the patch, also devastated about the wipe, there goes my Tier 10 Armor and weapons
