Info about the upcoming patch!

Im still awaiting the expected Macbook update, since I bought this game to play with my girlfriend. She has a Mac, I have Windows.

 

=\ jesus just do a mini patch to fix the saves now and then do your other bugfix patch later for all I care - I CAN'T PLAY KNOWING ITS ALL GONNA GET WIPED AGAIN

What do you mean? I use a macbook and have been able to play just fine.

So excited for this. I've gotten to the final tier of weapons/armour and subsequently become attached to my current character but nevertheless it'll be nice to know that this time when I finally get back to that spot, I'll know that I'll be able to stay there. And now I can actually make a house without fear of it being wiped.

64 hours in and I can tell this game is going to be one of my favorites.

 

You're assuming that there is anything "mini" about changing the whole coding base upon which savegames depend upon.

It's pretty much said on Twitter that this is one of the changes which is taking them the most time to implement. If not -the- one that has been most time consuming to work on.

You wanted that change before the end of phase one of the beta, you're getting it.
However it has to take the time it'll take for it to be implemented.

 

WILL THIS FIX XP BUG?

Sadly yes, worlds are gonna be deleted alot while in early dev, ships and characters however will no longer be deleted after this patch.

If they did it that way you'd still lose your character, so its better to do it all in one swoop.

I hope they get steam workshop to work with this, and I wouldn't mind some trading cards. Starbound background for steam!!!

 

Actually Face, the new system will also save worlds if i understand correctly.

I like to build a sweet base and I would like a barren planet this time around to do so.

Theyre only trying to get it into this patch, which means it may happen this patch, or later. But im pretty sure itll happen, ive got confidence.
