Industrialization: Starbound Edition [Deleted]

    I thought you meant you have to be near the plants for them to grow at all. Sucks they don't grow when your off planet though.

    Oh. xD Nah, as far as I've seen as long as you're in the same 'zone' as your plants, they'll grow.

    The Lua functionality is currently extremely limited, it just isn't feasible to make an Energy system at this stage.

    I'm guessing there must be little to no entity variable modification or storage for you to say that. Also must be little in the way of making entities interact with each other outside the wire system.
    Is it simply a matter of getting more data from the environment, storage or something else?

    I do enjoy creating a hacky solution, but that requires me to know the system, and i certainly don't know this one very well.

    Here is my proposal for the energy system. Can someone tell me what part is implausible.

    We use the already inplace wire system to send energy.
    for example you have a solar power and a furnace.
    the furnace and solar are connected with a wire.
    the furnace tests that we have a solar connected and it is on, and adds its energy value to our current total, ie internal energy storage ( i would image a self.Energy val)
    If the furnace checks each tick if it has enough energy, and is allowed to proceed.

    So what specifically is wrong with my idea? I dont doubt there is i just dont know what it is.

    Can I just download & update this mod if I have a previous version of this mod?
    Or is there anything other i have to do? And what about the new ores? Will they show up in my already started game or do I have to start from scratch?

    What I do to update is download the new file, place it into my mods folder, then delete the old files.

    To get the new ores to show up you'll either have to make a new character or go to a new planet. They don't generate until you arrive at them.

    People on IRC agreed that it was either impossible or near impossible. If you can make it, I will definetly download any mod you put out. :D

    Though I believe there aren't enough functions to get Entity Data, it might be possible with some hacks and magic. ;)

    Its not always wise to "Update" the pack, its best delete the old one to remove any nasties, and then add the new folder, and for the new ores to spawn, all you need to do, is delete the files in "Universe", but keep both Playerquest and playerCodex, you do NOT need to delete the character for the ores to take effect, character deletion is only if the quest line changes/extends, which i wont be planning on doing any time soon, so your characters are safe

    Will this mod have an integrated energy system like it did in Minecraft, like coal or nuclear power plants or maybe a solar one?

    alot of people asked that, but things like that need to be hard coded, which in doubt, impossible to do, even though, i would like that to happen
