    to make advance alloy you need to make reinforced mixed metals from the ferozium tier

    Geologically speaking nothing should be at all common on the surface. One thing that i feel is inaccurate about the ore distributions of Starbound is that ores should form long veins of varying thickness rather than clumps (I dont know if this is changeable) But i feel that the above distributions by DraLUSAD are not quite accurate. I feel some relation to their reletive densities as elements should define where and how much they spawn (this would not apply to aegisalt and beyond). For example Deep surface is where i would expect silver to start, Gold at depth1, platinum at depth2 and diamonds at depth 3. To keep in mind geological activities you could make everything of a tier extremely rare at any level even surface, i would be nice to stumble upon a planet and explore the surface then suddenly WOW a vein of gold at the surface and then move on and never see something like that for the next 100 or so planets.
    Speaking of Aegisalt and beyond ores though you could think of them as similar to silver, gold and platinum and have them form at the same depths as them like Aegisalt and silver and so on.

    Just a thought though, im open to people suggesting changes to this if they kinda sorta like it.

    When you research up to Research 20, it should be a Mixed Metals prototype ^-^
    You craft it in the machinery crafting table. One of the ingredients is a Bronze Bar, which is the Research 17 prototype. Bronze bar is crafted with Tin and Copper bars.
    Once you craft the Mixed Metals, you may compress it in a compressor to obtain Advanced Alloy.
    To help you in the future, most of the items have useful descriptions. For example, the description for compressor says "useful for making advanced alloy," and the description for mixed metals when you unlock the blueprint says, "suitable to be pressed into alloys," and that's how you can figure out on your own while waiting for help. Hope this helps :) good luck

    @Kuroda_K
    He is asking how to make advanced alloys for the basic power core in tier 1. You are talking about the reinforced alloys in tier 4 lol

    It seems everything related to Dropbox at the moment returns Error 500 - and the Dropbox people are aware of this issue. So, yeah :T Basically stuck on a version of Ind. without all the new Tier 4 stuff.

    Also, noticed an issue with the quests (not sure if fixed in latest, unable to check) - One of the quests asks the player to make a Compressor as a Tier 1 machine, but the Compressor requires Steel Gears, which is Tier 3 research. Kind of awkward.
    That, and most of the research at that point seems to expect me to have infinite pixels, or at least be on a Tier 5 planet (where having 5000 pixels is kinda reasonable)

    Which version are you using, as it sounds like an out-dated one to me

    No, Mixed metals makes Advanced Alloys, Reinforced Mixed metals makes Reinforced Alloys

    Basic Power Core is a Tier 2 thing, not Tier 1

    Steel Gears, it shouldn't recent updates has fixed this issue by making the Gears Iron instead

    I thought that was the case, actually - I actually manually changed the gears in the Compressor recipe to Iron, just so I could continue - glad to see that's how it was supposed to be, though.. it felt kinda cheaty doing that. :T

    High Temperature Plating still has a pixel cost.

    Hmm, Is it just me or what? I Started another character with this and NewHorizon mod and i cant seem to find any alien meat, Using a bow, and stuff, Cant spawn it in with spawner thingys, stuck at the third quest.

    My mod shouldn't have changed how alien meat drops, last time i checked i didn't touch anything along that lines

    I would love to see this mod support New Horizon once they get a few more updates.

    The quest to make the Improved Machine Block states it awards 2500 pixels, but it awards none.

    I feel that the pixel cost for researching later blueprints is much too high. I can understand the Tech Stage ones being costly, but 2500 for the Improved Machine Block, 3000 for the Booster Upgrade, and 15000(!!!) for the Resource Upgrade are very unreasonable, it really slows you down. I shudder to think at the ones after that, since I have yet to get that far after rerolling my character/universe to test this out. You are better off just not making any machines until you get to level 10 planets, when you can actually farm those pixel costs at a comfortable rate. But at that point, you have made all your T10 gear, and it eliminates the need for the machines.

    @Mandroo
    Do you use the refinery to get your pixels or are you farming the pixels killing monsters and breaking capsules? My bf and I didn't really have any issues starting off new characters. The questline funded us at the beginning, and we always refine our excess ingots in the refinery to fund the research and machines. To be more accurate, we paid for both the machines and the research since research wasn't fully implemented yet. Just wondering if for some reason you can't collect enough ores to refine because of changes to the ore distribution or something else ):

    I do refine ore into pixels, but like I said, I find it counter productive. The amount of ore/gems you end up refining to pay for your machines outweighs the worth of the machines themselves. You could much easier just ignore all the machines and progress normally, as if the mod wasn't even installed. Don't get me wrong, I love a little extra work, it extends the life of a game.

    Take Industrialcraft 2 for Minecraft, for example: The end result of all the work is a really neat suit of armor, some beefy new tools, and tons of automation. Now, I know you can't really do some of those things in Starbound, but the end result you work for in this mod ends up being what, just the Carbon Pickaxe/Axe? As awesome as they are, it seems like an awful lot of work. You spend way more resources making the machines than what you save from using them.

    What I am saying roughly is that if you saved the ore/pixels you would have spent making all the machines, you can progress much smoother, with waaaaay more ore/money in your pocket for the price of not having the carbon tools. The means just don't justify the ends. Now, if DraLUSAD plans on adding some more tools or machines that actually do things you couldn't do without the mod, then I could possibly see the costs being meaningful. But for the sake of what currently is attainable, I don't think gating the progression through pixels is the right way to go.

    This is just my honest opinion. I believe DraLUSAD has done an amazing job at making what I still consider the best mod for Starbound, and obviously he is still tweaking things. But nothing can be done by oneself without some feedback, positive OR negative.

    Wow, how original of you to literally remake a Minecraft mod for Starbound. Seriously. Wow.

    I have no words.

    No offense intended, but seriously. Even if this is good, that kind of makes me cringe because of the sheer amount of bad experiences I had with the thing that inspired this. I'm sorry, I am really sorry.

    not sure if anyone has reported this but the quest requires that you build the tech 2 upgrade before you make the boss summoning item which seems odd since the tech upgrade research requires steel which is tier 2.

    Having some issues with seeds. I have no blueprints at the seed table and at the wooden crafting table I cant make any seeds either. I have gathered unrefined wood and plant fiber but no blueprints have unlocked. Everything else seems to work fine. I just need to figure out how to get rubber so I can actually make the machine parts I need.

    Its hard to say "when" but this stopped working a few updates ago for me, the quest never showed up at all for me even when I first downloaded it but the tables and everything craftable was still on the list...now its not. The machine table, if its still called that is no longer in any of the crafting tables.
