I'm stuck at the first Power Gem quest. I got amethyst but there's no recipes or prints available for it. Also, gold wire? Can't make those.

Do I need to start on a new character for this update to work?

 

Apparently you cannot extract Aegisalt Clumps, not even in a Centrifuge Extractor.

 

Im having an issue with the mod after installing part 2 Starbound gets stuck at the loading screen when I press esc it says STarException No player species defined

I uninstalled part 2 and put back part 1. Part 1 seems to work,but part 2 leaves the game at loading screen.

Ok I fixed my problem!

To make an amethyst, you smelt the ores (or you can smelt amethyst dust as well, if you have them) Also, as of recent patches, in order to make gold wire you must unlock the research tree up to research prototype 22. You must craft the research table(to unlock this, you must pick up a vanilla crafting table, and you can craft it in there or a roboti crafting table) and buy the research prototype blueprints with pixels until 22 to unlock gold wires.
And no new player is required. However many recipes are easier to unlock if you start over because they require you to pick up certain things to unlock others. If your questline is messed up or not showing up, you must delete the "PlayerQuest" file in your Universe folder. hope this helps

Aegisalt clumps can be extracted in normal tier 1 extractors, no upgrades or anything. Quick work around until Dralusad fixes it.

my bf and I are wondering what the point of the induction furnace is. We have the smelting factory(10x) and a hybrid(3x +resource) and a resource electric furnace(for clean-up).
We tried smelting the coal balls and the mineral scraps to see if it could smelt more special materials and it couldn't. We are stumped! xD

 

Glad to hear that, I already have to completely re think my ship's layout with the current layout, that robot crafting table and wiring station make it nigh impossible to stack anything on top of them. I may finally cave in and move my super ruby crate full of guns to a secure storage facility on some random planet, I don't know where to put my 50 gun collection anymore.

I am a little confused by the package names. Part 1 is missing from Dropbox - is that because it's an outdated version, or are both parts needed?

 

Yeah. Cannot see the crafting recipe for the amethyst power core (do see the crate, though). Topaz power core does show up in the crafting menu after picking up a topaz.

 

Just checking if I need part 1 and 2 like Armchair.
Nevermind figured it out hehe.

 

I have no idea how to make advance alloy, nor do i understand what materials can be used on the Extractor or Compressor. Though i've made them and completed the tutorial and am on a Tier 4 planet i cannot create the tier 2 or 3 machines :C

 

You need mixed metal in compressor

I have no Industrialisation-related quests at all.
Is this because I also have More main quests mod installed?
Another problem, i can't craft Improved block. Even when i got steel and oll tier 1 machines.

 

Thank you so much i was really stumped. Can you hit me up with some recipes for the extractor and compressor though? Now i know the compressor can make carbon and advance alloy, and the extractor can turn resin into rubber. But what else can they do.

 

And how to use the Module Upgrade Mk1 etc etc
