NPC Increased NPC survivability.

    Moon Star Cosmic Narwhal

(I know there's a typo in the title.)

I always enjoy encountering friendly NPCs who live in small little houses in the world. Though nothing hurts more (Game wise) than seeing them get mauled to death by a hostile mob that charges towards me.

I suggest that if an NPC lives in the wild and has a house on its own, it should be able to at least defend itself. This would make it a bit more realistic (yes I know this is a game) considering it has the means of actually being able to live on its own. Their strength and life could be scale with the difficulty of the planet, so an NPC on a level 1 planet could survive against most of the monsters while a level 10 npc could survive against level 10 monsters.

    Gubudugu likes this.
  2. Gubudugu

    Gubudugu Astral Cartographer

this is a thing that bothers me too and i thought about suggesting it.
Worst than that is when a flying specie appear in the middle of a town, it's a carnage, and if i try to help i kill the npcs myself, the ones who survive will aggro me forever

  3. Karrakazul

    Karrakazul Orbital Explorer

Climbed to the top of an Avian sacrificial tower, dispatching the crazed guards left and right to save the trapped friendly Avian at the top. Then a bird swooped in and one-shot them.

    I was devastated.

Also consider increased HP if they lack the means to properly defend themselves to give us time to reach them.

  4. That is not a a bad idea at all. (At least allowing them to defend themselves) as it would definitely add to the game. In a huge way.

I don't like the idea of increased hp though...
Maybe they should be friendly to some often creatures on the planet, so they ignore them. (But not all the creatures)
Or maybe they could just be replaced by a new one if they die.
