In Which I Wondrously Wander About Wondering What You're GWoing to do With Water.

Now that my title has either enthralled or appalled you, I'd like to ask you to stay a while, and appease my curiosity, if you please!

We've all seen that Starbound is going to have some astonishing liquid mechanics! Now my question to you, forum-goers, is what exactly do you plan to use these mechanics for? Would you sooner just leave it be, and leave water in its natural source unless ABSOLUTELY necessary? Or do you have Gatsby-grade swimming pools, humongous aqua-domes, and interesting aquariums in mind?

Perhaps you've thrown all sense of self-preservation and caution to the wind, and you have something TRULY unique and creative in mind! Whatever the case, lets hear your ideas!

 

Aqueducts for my Roman-inspired nation.

 

IF there are going to be pumps like in terraria, but using real water mechanics.. Then I'd like to build a fountain(s) that spans the entire length of the building.. Trying it in Terraria just led to infinite water and wrecked everything :/

Roman inspired, eh? Just be sure not to split the power, we really do NOT need to see a repeat of what happened to the last Roman Empire. Gosh darn Mongols. But a system of aqueducts DOES seem like a really neat and innovative idea!

That's a pretty ambitious project, but maybe the addition of water pressure will help?

Depending on how fast water "moves" I might make a pool trap that opens up the bottom and drains the person within, all the way to hell.

Planning on implementing some kind of draw bridge apparatus, or...?

 

Thinking simpler, I will probably play with my gaming buddy, and he is SO easy to mess with. I will just tell him I built a pool, put decorations around it and stuff, moment he will jump in I will trigger the mechanism that will open the "door" at the bottom of the pool, draining all the water as far down as possible. Hopefully water interacts with electricity, cause then I know how it will end.

 

Well, hoping that water pressure will be added to the game itself; outside of the admin testing, I'd totally be an ass to the two others I'll be playing with... Waiting for the right moment to use pressure to my advantage to knock them off of a ledge or something... Of course, since one of them thinks the same way I do... I better watch my back.

 

Friends add a whole new meaning to survival! Though I wish mine were more creative. I am known as the troll in the group so they are all careful when around me, yet noone hits back.
