Currently, going to an asteroid field poses no real threat other than fuel loss. This is very unrealistic, and I think it would be interesting if there were a small chance that upon going to said asteroid field that your ship could be hit by a rogue chunk of space debris. You'd have to make repairs to your ship with the ore found in the asteroids in order to fly away, and it would add a feeling of danger whenever going to the asteroids. However, perhaps with some sort of tech upgrade the chance of getting hit by such a piece of debris could be lowered. What do you guys think?
Ok so you added a thing to make your chance of getting randomly annoyed lower. If you want to add a new place to explore that's cool, but if someone clicks on a new planet, they probably want to go to that planet!
Actually this would make the game more realistic counting that asteroid fields are filled with resources.
My original post never said anything about adding a new place to explore, nor would the idea mentioned prevent a player from going to a planet. Not entirely sure what you're talking about.
may that tech could be a deflector shield but instead of it lowering the chances of being hit it just nullifies the effect. but it would have to be fuelled somehow
don't get me wrong, but what's the point in inventing problems without any benefits for solving them? Oo
this is needed. as well as flying ships to landing and docking to space stations and flying though asteroid fields. airlocks anyone?
I think this idea is a great one an should not be left out. But here are my throughs there should be sizes to the asteroid fields there for showing the amount of damage that these "In-ship meteor showers" can do to the opposing player(s).
