You should be able to build yourself a reviving machine (like the one that appears when you die on normal) with a single use and hard mats to find. I've heard in some planets you can even die as soon as you teleport.

Ah Hopless, we shall raise a glass in toast.

A poor human from Alpha Tir Sigma III, Hopless never expected to become much of anything.
He died an inventor, craftsman and warrior. Master of Ferozium and Uranium, he was attaining knowledge of Ceranium before being cruelly struck down. Bane of Avian guards and the end of Apex warriors, even the notorious Bone Dragon fell before his might and clever use of geography.
As the tales of Hopless pass into legend, one remembers the last advice given by this great character, graven into the side of a hidden mountain deep in a forgotten system:

"What do you mean you don't EAT bandages?"

 

You guys always make me sad with these RIP threads.

I always scoff before I come into one and then leave as if I had just watched The Notebook.

Cirom - my very first (and very last) character created in Starbound, with a banjo that played the best of tunes.
Lock - my main Vanilla character from Angry Koala, who managed to achieve quite the collection of items and instruments.
Friend Banana - that character which only lasted about 2 days before a mod update made his file corrupt
Chrisley - the main guinea pig for my mod testing and general messing around. Also the character I used on my laptop.
Zonde - the character I used for a modded playthrough with friends, creating all the technologies and firing a rather awesome MMNGun shotgun.
( and also Sir Taco II - a character which I created and had an update wipe literally a DAY after. Named after a character from Rogue Legacy. )

Mossby was a man who would liberate a town of Apex, then burn down said town because he was bored. He never left his ship without his trusty hammer, the Poop Slapper Hefty Bonkalator. He had dreams of making a fort on his home planet, but never had the time or pixels to make the dream a reality.

 

Rest in peace whoever now was my character. I knew I shouldn't had given such a difficult name. Whatever the name was again.

 

In memoriam
Zebe, you wretched space freak.
Your death count was remarkable.
The slaughter of your crew was an "accident", yes. (RIP 2 unnamed pirates, 2 unnamed doctors, 1 stim merchant and Mr. Lime Beefjeff)
You lost your home to meteorites, your pixels to griefers and your sanity to those derpy monsters.
Nonetheless, you achieved your final goal only few hours before the wipe.
You got your fancy top hat, and you died happily.

My #1 char in his fancy spaceship, starving. Few days before wipe, if I recall correctly. My current goal is to recreate this. Might take a while.

EDIT: It deleted In memoriam -part for no reason. Apparently space gods hate me.

Alas poor Hopless! He lived every moment like it was his last! Like until Sunday morning.....

 

Not really depressing to me, especially when they have some interesting screenshots. It is moving on, as one could always remake the character, like in my case. I just have to build up again.

 

My best pre-wipe character was a Human Female who had been named and modelled after Kira 'Rina-chan' Buckland (whom I have a big crush on IRL). She made it as far as the Gamma Sector prior to the wipe.
(I also made characters after pro-gamer Kat Gunn and YouTube-famous girl guitarist Jacqueline Mannering, both of whom I'm also crushing on...)

Of course, I can just remake all my characters and play them from scratch again...

 

See, me neither. I am going to restart a bunch of times anyway.
