Closed [IMPORTANT] Possible XP freeze / crash fix.

    2gb RAM
    Pentium Dual Core E6500 @ 2.93GHz each
    Plenty of hdd.

    Yeah I've noticed that I've been unable to edit posts too, might be the influx of traffic from the past couple of days.

    Seems like it might have worked for me. Next update will have a possible fix for XP users as well, in case this fix doesn't work for some.

    That should be more than the bare minimum. Have you tried updating visual c, direct x etc ? Also are you using the OpenGL exe or the normal one ?

    Already up to date, already up to date, etc. :p
    OpenGL does the exact same thing.

    Well, it all points to a renderer problem but i honestly can't say more about it heh.

    No worries. Patch is due within the next 24 hours by estimate. That should fix a lot of the problems and will most likely make this thread obsolete.

    It works, BUT... I have really big lags, when i see WATER :O
    I can't move normally.

    PC:
    Intel Pentium 4 3.20GHz 3.20GHz
    2gb Ram
    ATI Radeon X1300/X1550 Series
    (I know, that machine is old. Really old.)

    So, This patch broke it again. Trying the fix to see if that works.

    E: I'm getting the freeze again. Sammy's DLL no longer works for me and the original .dll freezes again...
    Looks like we're back to square one.

    E2: Scratch that. Old dll now works fine for me. Guess it's user specific now.

    IF YOU ARE CRASHING WITH THE FIX APPLIED, PLEASE REVERT TO THE ORIGINAL SDL.DLL.

    Yep, can no longer get past the loading screen before the menu. The unofficial fix does not work for me in the slightest, and it never did.

    Slight update: By using OpenGL mode, I can actually run the game with no problems whatsoever. It even loads quickly. The only issue is that the framerate drops to about 6fps when in towns.

    Have you replaced the .dll with the old version ?

    Yes I did, it worked. But today it doesn't anymore (after the update).

    My specs:
    Windows XP SP3
    GEforce 9800 GT (with latest drivers)
    CPU: core2duo E4500
    MB: Asus P5LD2-X/1333
    4GB RAM

    In fact, I just checked the game's win32 folder and found out the dll wasn't replaced. The replaced one was the fault.
    I restored the original sdl.dll and the game works :D

    I put the dll i copied before putting this in and now the game is working without errors (11.12.2013)

    I am the only one this didn't work on? I've tried everything! I've tried swapping the SDL.dll, I've tried changing affinity and priority in task manager, I've tried waiting for six hours, I've tried everything and it still doesn't work!
