This really inspires me to make my own request thread but I don't think I'd be able to keep up with the demand!! I do have some sprites of my own but nowhere close to this. My question, however, is what methods do you use to draw these sprites? Do you draw free hand or do you have models to go off of? What I do is I draw a quick outline of the sprite in photoshop and then trace over it with blocks of pixels (12x12). That, or use the model Rho put up on the IRC! Good work though! I hope Starbound gets recognized for its pixel artists.
Sorry, I've been really busy with various things, but i'm almost done yours, just need to finish coloring. Thanks! owo Thanks~ I use MSPaint, and usually just use the model Rho gave us, all though sometimes I change the sprites pose by just drawing it freehand. I use Paint.net to add trasparency and resize.
I have few questions: 1. is my sprite request going to be as detailed as the sprite in your sig or more detailed and such? I ask because I already have a starbound sprite style version of my character so I wouldn't want to have the same thing (I only ask this since I see the OP has starbound-ish sprites) 2. assuming your avatar is your own artwork...is it too late to switch from a sprite request to a drawing request? I'd ask for both but I can already tell I'd cause a shitstorm with the people that already don't like me. aaaaaand guess that's it for questions....and thanks for readin
Yeah, i'm going to do yours, but it will be awhile till I get to it. I'm going to make you a starbound sprite, so the on in my sig.. Less detail I guess? If you goto the op you can see how I do my starbound sprites. I use more shades than you'd see in the actual game on them to try and fit more detail in. The avi isn't my artwork, it was made by the fabulous Suika Ibuki. My artwork is more like the one at the top of this post, or like THIS. I'm sorry that I can't change your request, as i'm really busy irl at the moment and am already having trouble finishing requests. If you want though, feel free to request a drawing next time I open requests.
