This will be interesting if also added to terrain/bushes/trees with some awesome sprites

 

It would be great to see a video of the flames and destruction in action.

We're working on it. Just started fire literally today I think. It's looking good so far but it's got some work that needs doing. I hope in the end you can accidentally burn down your house.

I know the fire is still really rudimentary at this point, but I find it hilarious how the avian civilians are completely oblivious that their entire market is burning to the ground around them. I hope there'll be plans for civilians to start panicking when stuff is set on fire near them.

 

It looks like a scene out of King Arthur's Gold.

 

And that they stop, drop and roll if they catch on fire. The collapsing buildings of flame can burn people, right?
And if not that, they need to run back and forth waving their arms.

As long as it can't be used for griefing. Perhaps fire won't be possible on other people's blocks they've placed. But this is awesome!

 

YES! And here I was, thinking griefing wouldn't be in Starbound... Oh what a relief, worry was starting to creep in.

Villagers should throw water on fires, self preservation. And guards should attack on site for arson!

 

Well, there's already rocket launchers and other explosives...which I feel have far greater griefing potential.

 

rocks generally aren't very explosive

unless they're mercury fulminate or something
