If you were to make a mod, what would it be?

I would make a mod that adds tons of new blocks, monsters, items, etc. I just like more stuff to do.
Oh, I would also have a banana mod, with a banana gun, sword, and armor set.
And a planetary destruction mod... I love explosions

Hey guys, I'm kindasortabutnotreally active again. I'm kinda inconsistent at this place

Anyway, as I'm sure you all know, modding is a feature that is planned for Starbound. It is made to be decently simple for people to do, but like I said, we all already know about this, so I won't get into it.
So earlier today I was wondering to myself, what kinda mods I would make if I wasn't sidetracked with my own game and other personal things? So I thought I might as well ask the rest of the forums too.

Pretending that all of us are artistically and code-savvily blessed enough to make very nice mods, what would you do?
    New dungeon types?
    Maybe quests?
    Unique NPCs?
    Fancy Techs?
    Add your race?
    Nice new mini-biomes?

I don't know, go crazy. If you could put anything what would you add?

    I would make two mods.
First one that makes the Arcade Cabinets playable in-game as minigames.

The second mod would be a more complex quest mod connected to the Arcade Cabinets mod above.
In this quest you find out that the legendary game development team Chucklefish has gone missing and with further inspection you learn that they have been trapped in one of their games. It's your job to help them out.

    So what is your mod?

    More on my quest mod.
I was going to suggest this, but I'm to lazy to type this up nicely, plus it probably wouldn't be added due to the fact it's closely related to another game.
To make a long story short-ish, while traveling around a technologically advance planet, if you happen to stumble into an arcade you'll have a chance of triggering the events to activate the quest.
It starts something like this. You'll walk into the building and you'll see a small group of the NPC gamers talking to each other.
The main one in the group will say, "When is Chucklefish going to release their new game already dude?! Half Life 4 will be out by the time it's done man!"
The rest of his posse chimes in with 'Yeah dude!'s and shouts and catcalls. One of the kids in the group will walk over to you and ask you to come over and join the conversation. The main kid will ask you if you know anything about the new Chucklefish game.
A dialogue box will open (or however that ends up working) and you can tell the kid either:
"No, tell more" (which starts the quest)
"No, but I don't have the time" (which stops the quest fromm beginning)

Assuming you've asked for more information:
Kid 1 "Chucklefish is an amazing indiegame development studio dude."
Kid 2 "Most say the best bro!"
Kid 3 "Yeah, their games are so immersive it feels like you're actually being sucked into the screen man."
    You "Wow that's pretty impressive"
K1 "Yep. They announced that they were working totally chill new game two years ago, but we haven't seen anything new on it in like 20 years!"
K2 "Yeah their last game Star Captive was amazing. This new game was supposed to be bounds better than it though. Apparently they were working on this new VR technology stuff that's supposed to be epic bro.
You "Interesting, why'd they stop working on it? What happened?"
K3 "No one really know for sure-"
K2 "But some people say something happened to them."
K1 "Dude, it's true, they have gone off the map since then. According to the extranet their local authorities looked into their disappearance but couldn't find anything."
K2 "It's crazy to think it happened so close to *planetnameyou'reon*. It's only a few hours aways in our ship. Kinda scary man."
K1 "No the only member of the team that has been seen since then is Rho. I wish someone would take matter into their own hands, the authorities won't be fixing this problem anytime soon."
All Kids "The faster they're saved the faster we can play."

From this point the quest will officially be active. Your map will tell you to go to the nearest modernized planet, and if one isn't near one will be generated. Once you're there you'll be able to find and have a conversation with Rho. After the conversation she'll tell you that the rest of the team went missing because they were trapped inside the game due to a malfunction in the games experimental VR technology. She'll tell you that she trusts that you're strong enough to get them out and gives you the directions to her home so you can let yourself into the game too.
The game is pretty much just a unique map and minibiome with creatures and blocks you won't be able to find outside of the mission.
This mod is supposed to be a hint to Terraria so the map will pretty much be a Forest Biome from Terraria using identical blocks and enemies, just in the game Starbound.

If you travel to the far left of the map you'll come across a large cave and find the rest of the Chucklefish team taking shelter inside. They're all surrounding a lump that looks like raw hamburger meat with bones sticking out.
Upon speaking to the team they tell you that the only way to get out of the game is to find Bartwe's keyboard so he can code them a portal out of the game. Unfortunately he left it outside one day and it was sucked up by King Slime, so to leave you have to find and kill him.
Also with further inspection Mollygos will tell you that the lump is Legris, and that they had to eat something, and that he tasted like cake.

The mission is completed by killing King Slime and returning the keyboard. The quests rewards are unique Chucklefish Arcade Cabinets you can decorate your pad with. You can also find a chest filled with Terraria weapons and armor if you search hard enough while in the game.

I think we only had a thread recently about the same topic. Not sure. In any case, I would add my Roo race.

  8. It would awesome if there was a mod filled with easter eggs.
Like you're walking peacefully on a new planet you've discovered, and Tiy comes out of a bush and throws his beard at you.

^this, I have an idea for a futuristic zombie apocalypse style mod but the entire universe is infected. but I want to add a story with quests and stuff, and have more "non destructible" structures with basic survival gameplay. But I'm still not sure, it's just an idea.

I also have an idea for a basic skateboard tech and one weapon/instrument Idea.

I would love to add NPC quests. For example, an Apex requests you to bring him/her 15 bananas (so cliche). After bringing the required items, you would be rewarded with pixels. Amount of pixels depends on task difficulty.

Musical drone like I suggest here.
You give him an instrument, choose a song and he play. (you can also put it in a band like a player)
Perfect for give ambience during exploration/even or play in a band even alone...

Mod or official, I want that :p
(I even got a friend saying he would PAY for a mod with that lol)

I got some mod knowledge but that's pretty basic and I would be in need
to create menu and stuff... ... and I am too lazy :p

combat mod.... making actual levels and skills ;-0 i feel the game would have much more playtime if you had levels in it.... like swords profession levels or dagger so and so and when you reach certain levels you can use different moves with them? :p then maybe have a general level for hp and energy... then id make it so guns need ammo but raise their damage a little then id also change it so the bullets looked like they were moving faster like a beam of light across the screen... maybe add flips? cause flips are flippin fun... maybe also try to make it more fast paced? id really love this game to be heavily combat focused with also of course adventuring but very combat focused

An extensive AI / world progression mod. Something that gives NPCs, particularly sentient ones, the ability to manipulate and change the world the way the player does, but in a likely more relevant and sensible manner. Also, along the same vein, city expansion and the equivalent of Oblivion's "radiant AI" in which NPCs have jobs they take care of at relatively similar times each day.

THIS. This all the way. And for conserving CPU we could use a meta-game system, like how The Indie Stone are doing with Project Zomboid, or like what Frontier is doing with Elite Dangerous.

Somebody give this guy a medal!
