If You Missed the Stream from 7/23/2013

Here's the first part of the stream, it was all of the music feature. I'm pretty sure the music feature must be done by now. So here you guys go!

The Still Alive part was so well done that Still Alive (Portal) put copyright notices on my video. Good job Chucklefish!

 

This is the next generation of vocaloids.

 

I might just be getting old... but the first half of the stream just sounded like pure noise to me. Not a fan of the band feature, solo play is amazing though!

EDIT: This comment was made before Part 2 was shown. I like Part 2 a LOT more, especially without the vocals.

 

I'm not a fan of the singing, though the instrument part I find quite interesting.

 

So. Bad.

 

Reminds me so much of the Chipmunks.
I really hope the voice is customizable by character.

 

i didnt like the first minute, but im currently halfway through and im loving this music. i would ever listen to this outside of the game, but i feel like this seeminly random jumping of notes in the direction they should go will promote some really cool group concerts.

 

God damn it. Kill it with fire.

 

The first half was not so hot, but the 2nd half was much better.

That singing. Maybe I'm getting picky, but if we wanted to make the voices indecipherable, I would've preferred something other than a chipmunk sound. Doesn't stop us from enjoying the instrument part of it.

 

Still Alive was good, but, well, that was probably the worst Bon Jovi cover band I've ever seen. (To be fair, it's also the best one I've ever seen.) With the ABC notation stuff, though, we'll probably get some cool stuff done. I'm curious as to how the stringed instruments sound. If they're any good, I may try getting some of my own compositions into the game.

 

I feel like their ABC notation was off for the band play. The Bon Jovi song sounded like the wrong notes were being played. Also, I personally do not have a problem with the singing BUT I think it would sound better if it were more legato and less staccato.

Beginning made me dizzy and disorientated, bang my head, and fall down. Woke up and the video was over.

BTW...why the hell would they put a copyright notice on this? What a bunch of losers. You said where it was from didn't you? God I hate people that don't like free publicity, and especially when it is used in a way that has absolutely no right to say it is a violation.

 

Well that was... random. The music system can be quite good, like we saw in the Still Alive (solo) and Sonic's music videos, but that first half wasn't so good.
The Still Alive concert (second part) was way better in comparison. I still think the "voices" need some tweaking (if the problem isn't in fact the composition).

Also, it was "live". You can't expect synchronisation to be perfect.

 

I prrety much think it was awesome. the voice shouldnt do the instruments however.

 

Not a fan. I will definitely not be using this feature unless I have to kill an enemy with noise.

 

One minute and sixteen seconds into the video and I wanted to jab me eardrums out so bad I threw off my headphones and stood up to go do so. After I found the sound had stopped though, I calmed down and returned to reason. Throwing up and sitting back down I paused it.

Why? What song were they playing to sound so bad? I really didn't hear the whole chipmunk thing, they are whinny not just high-pitched. But good lord they need to fix the music system if they want to play that song, or practice...

 

Hate to say it but I really don't like the singing. It's an interesting, original idea but it just doesn't work the way it is right now.

It really needs to be tuned so it's not as "blocky" as it is right now. I mean, there's no smooth adjustment between the pitch changes. It just abruptly switches from A to C, without no B in the middle.
Also the singing sounds way too much chipmunk-y. Hopefully there will be a slider to adjust your voice pitch. Otherwise they must implement a mute option for the singing. :F

Really, I love the band feature. I think people are blaming it way too much on this whole instrument thing when the only part that needs tweaking is the "voice instrument"
