Posting your computer specs would be helpful.

Unless your computer is worse than a Macbook Air, you shouldn't have any worries.

If your computer can boot up you can run Starbound. :)

you just dont know if it will work on release, but take into account that there will be bug fixes, and will make sure to try and get everyone able to play the game. and also take into account that preordering is not just a gerentee copy on release, its also to help support them, so even if it just happens to not work on release (probably very unlikely) knowing you supported them to release it should be the biggest reason to preorder. just look at how many people supported and bought higher teirs... for support.

Well my computer can run terraria, but lags like hell when It goes to max res. But other than that if you don't have a outdated out the butt computer you'll be alright to pre-order.

I'm pretty sure Starbound would even be able to run on my 10 year old TI83+ (That is, if the batteries in it didn't smelt ages ago...)

Unless you still use a 286, you will be able to run starbound. Do you still use a 286?

... I say that the best thing Starbound ever did was go to Steam. If you get a new computer, you can always play Starbound again, managed you redownload Steam on the new computer and get your account details figured out on it.

Well, this entirely depends. Its a 2-D platformer game using code thats mainly used for 3-D games. However, I believe its safe to say that if your computer could run Terraria, chances are that itll run Starbound just fine. The only different I've seen so far is that one uses .NET framework and the other C++.

Also, wasn't Terraria unoptimized? It's really not right to compare them, because Starbound might be more optimized than Terraria
