Starbound's difficulty got nerfed because people can't handle a challenge.~

    I like pixel costs.
I like no natural health regen.
    I like monster difficulty.
    I like the bosses.

Nerfing any of the above would honestly break my, and many others, heart.
Please, people, stop your nagging, your pointless rambling. The game's difficulty is fine, you just need to get used to it~

you can't expect to faceroll the game ON YOUR VERY FIRST DAY.

The difficulty is a well-appreciated change of pace from the typical easymode games nowadays. I would also be very upset if the game was nerfed.

Not everybody is unemployed and has all the free time in the world to constandly die and try again.

I also agree. (Heck I play Dwarf Fortress. I don't mind games that are unashamedly hard)

And frankly, if you just take your time and stop being impatient, it's not all that difficult anyway. Sure, you die a lot, but it's not like you are using your items. (And I've always had enough pixels to craft what I needed)

The only problem I have is the Pixel costs of things.

I think the first tier of armor should have that cost removed.

I am verily much employed and I love the difficulty of this game, makes the game that much longer to "finish"per se.

I understand your frustration, but does someone with too much on their plate play World of Warcraft every day? It's unlikely. If the game consumes too much of your time, don't play it. Either that, or wait until someone makes a dificulty mod.

While I agree with you that I like the higher challenge level, I see nothing wrong with some kind of "difficulty slider" so people can play as they want.

Yes, but they'll eventually give in because they will get a lot of complaints from people that rush games, and they wont stop. (I really hate beating a game on my first day, ruins it for me)

Difficulty slider does seem like it could please both camps. Perhaps have some reward or achievement or something for people who play the harder difficulty.

I think most of the gripes that people have are due to the randomness of the starting planet and people not realizing that they can pick up and move. For myself it required a string of really good luck to get the pixels for my first not crap weapon since my starting planet had Doom Birds what crap thunder and some land critters that tried to knock me into orbit while taking over half my health who had a nasty habit of seeming to camp the spawn point.

I think that adjusting the starting armor's cost a little could help to iron out the kinks caused by the random starts without affecting the overall gameplay. But it's beta so who knows what else might change to make things smoother.

And I am definitely in favor of a difficulty setting or a config file somewhere- but again beta.

The difficulty seems fine for now, though I do think that it's a little too easy to die to Level 4 mobs on the starter planet without equipment.

What stands out for me is that this is the FIRST planet you are on and you alredy get murdered instantly. Since this is just stage 1 beta we cant measure any sort of a difficulty curve but still. It seems really strange for the game to go dark souls on us less than 2 minutes in.

Monsters dealing 20% of your health away? Thats a pretty nice difficulty that can easily be balanced out by progression.
40%? A bit too much but whould make sense for nighttime monsters or uncommon ones.
60%? Um... What? Nevermind... It can be balanced out when you get better items right? Right?
    80%?! Nope.
Ive seen monsters deal away 80% of the hp bar in one hit. Granted this is before the player has any armor or powerful weapons but this is gonna be one terryfying game if this is planet one.

Yeah man the Devs should only cater to us the "Hardcore" gamers and not care about the casual crowd who are having a hardgames lololol11

Yeah whiny kids should l2p and be l33t.

Dying right away? The game is RANDOM as to anything could happen, check the threat level of your world and avoid monsters, changing it up does nothing to benefit it that much.

This is because this isn't a casual game, go play a casual game if you're a casual gamer. Dark Souls isn't casual, and neither are a lot of games, but there are a lot of casual games too. Don't change harder games just because you don't want to have a challenge.
