so, the game is atleast playable ... wheres the beta ? i guess it well be 2014 before that happens ~w~
Okay, I'm trying not to sound like the selfish people screaming their lungs out, but I have to ask: Why can't we have access to the demo? I can totally understand you guys holding off while you show it at I49, but why not give it to those of us who have preordered now that the event is over? Put in a big splash screen saying something along the lines of "This is not the beta, this is a demo, it will probably be broken, this is just to tide you over until beta." and let us have a crack at it. I'm not demanding you give it to us, but I'm at least curious as to the reason. I am not requesting a rush on the beta, that would be stupid. Beta will be out when it's finished. I just want to know why we can't have the demo.
The beta is still promised before the end of 2013. Comments like yours make no contribution to the conversation and are overly abundant. The game showcased at i49 is in no way polished, not even enough for a beta. Only the first tier is done, and there are quite a few bugs.
I love how well i49 did to Starbound and Chucklefish. Considerably higher amount of new people on the forums, around 45.000 dollars of extra pre-orders (even someone bought another 2000 dollars tier thing). Well done, Chucklefish
oh is that so? why are you saying that only to me? i am not the onlyone who lost already the patience because the devs said many times already that the game is "basicly" playable but has (in their eyes) too less content which they could easily update with a patcher/launcher (and they said they want to work with steam together aswell) or steam ... not that hard at all but ohwell not much time left for the promise i guess? oh and dont forget to tell everyone who writes stuff like me that it makes no contribution to the conversation, also i mean with that you have to go aaaaallll the way back on the beginning of this topic and quote every single person who shows that he has lost his/her patience to wait. but i guess i am just your victim here =3
Hey devs. and hey legris ... i see that the game realy lookt stable. i still would love to play it right now... in fact i have my 26 birthday and it would be a great gift .. tho i think that i have birthday and telling my live story dosent change the fact that i get it when you guys think its ready. and i gues writing a preview of it wouldnt help =P basicly no excuses ... tho i think releasing a basic version early like arma 3 did with a stable build and a dev build to get feedback .. find errors early that you might not encounter right away and break stuff even more later and then its hard to fix becouse it took some time. i think early realeses are a good thing for games. game dont need to have all content (arma 3 had 3 different branches . stabel .. public dev and internal dev version with all stuff in it ) .. well i see ofcouse the problem and time that would be needet to maintain those.so i still feel 2 branches like one public and one for you guys would be what the game needs .. and it dose not neet dayly update. a weekly every fryday would all what would be needet. including you guys start taking off weekends ... this way you guys would be less stressed and get some time off to clear your head. people would be happy with a prerelease. and you could even work a hole more ear on it. this are my thought and not a request ... just to make it clear i dont need a reply to this but i wanna tell what i feel and think and wish. i dont think this needs to be talkt mutch about since i feel most people would agree with my wish. beside from that .. the daly updates ( even if they mostly say the same ) are realy great. and i hope you guys dont stopp untill the game is finaly finishd .. i do some c# coding my self and i know thinks take time and making a game is REAL REAL REAL HARD .. and it takes years of experience. i know already that the code you guys make are better than what notch did (that code was a bit messy) Finaly .. tho the guys from Yogscast did not a good preview and just where messing around ( some dint liket it at all ) i liket to see how the game was working and realy nice to see it not crash even once ( this is why i also feel you guys are ready to maybe release the first version soon ? ) i realy loved the QA from youtube also realy mutch and it was realy nice to see this ... i need to say i looking more forward ti this game, and i cant wait to play it ( im an inpatiant guy ) i wanna thank you guys for making this game that realy looks like one of my dream games. well that feeld realy good to say what i feel =) and sorry for my typos .. its late and im not used to type so mutch .. im also a bit lazy today so im not double checking my writing but i hope its not to bad to read ... well signing off for today ! thanks for reading =)
Good to hear about the weird setup when you were playing. I hope you'll forgive me, but I was thinking "man, Legris really isn't very good...". Hahahaha, I should've figured it was something like that. I was really happy you guys had a successful show. I'm sure a lot more people are hyped about Starbound that might not have known about it. I know the subreddit has been getting a lot of new-ish type questions since I49 so I know more people are looking for info. I'd definitely be happy to see some more streams or even the full video from the hunger games stream. Get some rest, you deserve it!
Would you say your excitements is not BOUND by the STARS? Great job at i49, guys! I really hope that this game can show its face within this semester. My teachers are pretty bad, and I'd love to be able to come home to some relaxing starbounds Love what you're doing, guys, keep up the work, and remember that no matter when you release, us fans will support you every step of the way!
Program something myself? That would be easier than my current job. Work from home, as long as I want, as many days a week as I want, taking breaks whenever I feel like, with no obligation to complete my task other than 2013. You're rather naïve thinking that their job is anymore demanding than anything else someone does to sustain a living, especially if you assume they don't take advantage of the luxury of working from home. As such, I'll criticize them as I please. Every update they give, they get to read pages upon pages of "Omg wow, you guys work so hard. good job keep it up!" Id rather present a more objective perspective than the endless circlejerk that encompasses all forums. If you want to just label that as impatience since you have no real opinion to present, Be my guest. So, What's the reason that supports don't have access to this "demo" now that the event is over? Or did you just quote me to get your white-knighting out of the way for the day. Why shouldn't those who preordered be allowed to play what's available, other than "some people might not like it because its not the finished product".
Rah rah rah c: . Glad you guys made it in one piece for us, . Hopefully, you guys don't get too much "hate" mail for the beta and stuff. I'm patient enough, and I wish that most people would be too, but...I guess...they want it. Anyways I hope you guys get enough rest so that work shall be done next morning, next day, next month, and so on and so forth. (It would be very lovely if you could release the beta ...) Just kidding.
Assuming of course you knew a particular action was actually going to bring on a boss. To be honest, if I did not see a live stream where Tiy mentions that he won't craft the Beacon because it would start the boss battle. I would have been totally flabbergasted and might die, let alone I would likely not have been prepared for it either.
im sorry but LOL ? just hte first line is realy loool . i do some programming my self .. programing is a very complicatet thing im shure you could not do a simple 2 d game with jump efect, simple animation and health and collition detekion in c++ stabel in a month ... if you wanna proof me wrong you are welcome. if you dont can do this then dont say it would be easyer than your current jobb since you dont have a clue how hard it is do do a game. and in c++ its even harder
I saw the yogscast play and I was wondering, are their any shot guns or non-automatic rifles? If not it would be awesome if they were added, no pressure though.
I thought It did o.o Oh well, if it doesn't, then I'll pray that you might just RANDOMLY find $50 dollars on the ground, buy a card, then pay for a higher rate of pre order
No wait. It IS there. I just didn't notice it. Adult ADHD don'tcha know. Must have got distracted at the wrong moment. Although if someone wants to give me $2000 for all teh stuffs and all teh badges I wouldn't say no...
it says beta invite on my site http://puu.sh/4cCEq.png hehe btw how do i aply my preorder code for the forum badgat .. i got a key for that but i havent fount where to put it =P
Huh? You mean Pixel tier? It does include a Beta invite, don't worry EDIT: Ah alright, you noticed. Don't mind me...
