I would like to avoid something that ruined Terraria.

I'm sad because now I can't go into servers with FULL ARMORRRRRRR

 

It's an option for anyone hosting a server, So you can bring in your own characters if the server allows it. Most probably wont.

 

As mudkips said, its an option for the servers, however this brings something into question.
if the journey is half the experience, why would you only want to experience it once? what is the difference between playing on your old server and playing on a new one, or InvEditing for that matter, if in the end you are just sitting their at top, nothing to do and no way to grow, why even play?

If I do end up hosting a public server I certainly won't, if people want to screw up their own experience, go ahead, but leave me out of it.

 

You trying to start up the inventory edit v. non-editors argument again? There is no way to win. You obviously believe editing is awful. He obviously uses it occasionally. Can it be left at that?

 

He's not starting anything up again. This is a thread where on topic = arguing about inventory editors.

 

I thought this thread was about the prevention of inventory editors being created for Starbound, which has already been established is impossible. This thread is pretty much pointless argument fuel now.

Yeah, it is, so I would suggest you just avoid it if you find it annoying.

 

oh yes... its pretty bad how people can just skip all of the bad items and get good ones.

many people are lazy and just want the best stuff so they can play with the best stuff for 30 minutes then complain about how the game was a waste of money.

....well, I guess this thread is dead now. go my one post. I think this is... invalid. it went from peaceful debate to complaining and assuming that everyone that uses invedit is like this:

I played about 20 hours of terraria before getting inventory editors. let me see how many hours terraria has now.
...huh. It's not showing up. oh well. I would like to share that I legitimately felt bad for not playing the game for a long time. I didn't play for 5 months then I heard some music, and I avoided the music because it made me feel bad for not playing. and I'm using invedit galore over here.
oh and by the way, the last time I looked at how long I played it, it was over 200 hours, spread through 2 years. and I'll still play it today, granted I have someone to talk to or something. and wow, I like periods!

there we go. 296 hours played. I do believe that invedit lengthened my play time, perhaps. it made the game better. people say it doesn't ruined it, but I haven't seen anyone mention this yet. there are many games I have, and the main reason for not playing is I lost something very valuable. do you know how many times that happened in terraria? and yet, I'm still playing. maybe because I can GET IT BACK. plus, I can use it for other people. I played PvP with a friend and dominated them. I gave them some gear and it became a somewhat fair fight. it was fun. do you want to know WHERE I got that gear? invedit.

also. invedit gives you chests. oh god I love chests. chests are so useful.

Invedit doesn't realy make a difference, if you choose to play with or without it, then you do that, its up to you. If Starbound's going to have that, then at some point I'm going to use it just for the lols and testing purposes.

 

I know you can play the way you want to play and all, but modding in equipment to make yourself Superman is just kind of a slap in the face to those who put their time into getting there legitimately. I love mods and cheats and all that jazz, but if I'd have beaten Megaman X with the ultimate buster and godmode, the experience wouldn't have been near as satisfying.

I know what you mean, and there are certain games that I would highly not recommend stuff like that. terraria is not one of those games. terraria is "you do whatever you want, I don't care."

what do you mean? you want to ask me how I enjoy terraria more?

 

And thank the lawd for that! If the SPF hadn't been using them to mule and trade, Tenshi would never have created Atma, which wouldn't have spawned GoMule.
