They owe everyone (and i'm not talking just to the ones that preordered) a fucking insight of the periods of the beta and the goddamn game. It's not THAT good their behavoir, acting like "we will, when we want" it's not appropriate considering that they have a 6 months window left. Is it *that bad* asking for a damn estimate of the beta ? "early summer ? " " after summer? " SOMETHING ? And yeah, i'm writing with this "pissed off" tone because i really am, considering that the "2013" thing keep going on.

I am sure they are hard at work on the official trailer. As I think I have mentioned before, creating a good trailer for Starbound will require some more of the features of the game to be in. I think NPCs & MOB behaviors have to be a little further along than what we have seen for that to be possible.

You can't really believe that "when they'll know", they *already* know, for sure not a precise date, but the month should have been already discussed. I CAN'T really believe that in a six months window they've not even already tought the beta placing month. Because if it really is, well, god save us.

 

Would knowing a month really make you feel that much better?

What happens when they say, "we really hope June" then for whatever reason its delayed until July, you will be here flipping your shit, along with alot of forum goers and just freaking out because they lied to you and you invested in their game, you have a right to know bla bla bla bla.

Why on earth would they put up with the risk of having such douchebaggery aimed at them, when they can just keep shtum until they are 100% sure?

Are you going to cancel your pre-order because you don't know when the game is going to come out? Is anybody? Probably not, and those that do will simply buy the game when its released anyway...

As I said, once they know for sure. As Coord put it blunter then me, if they run into an issue and let slip their own -hoped- for date.. oyi.

C'mon dude, this last week we got: PVP, Shields, Lots random Monsters, Streams, ect. A bit before that we got a good look at the starmap, FTL jumps, all the ships, showing how they test generated structures, ect.

I know a date would ease a lot of minds. Ill ponyup to that, but when they are showing them working hard on it.. and all people focus on is when when when..

Well.. a little gratitude for their transparency of the development process wouldn't be completely unfounded. Its not a date or trailer.. but its not like those really change anything.

 

I can't say I was too impressed with boarderlands. It just seemed like the guns weren't unique enough. The real challenge is to have procedural generated weapons that every time you find one you feel like you haven't seen anything like it.

 

How far into the game did you get? There are tons of unique guns that are unlike any you find before it.

Sir, despite your impatient facade, you WILL wait with the rest of us for whenever it is out. Your whining and entitlement will not make it come any faster.
On that note, they have already suffered backlash with missed deadlines, and by not telling you anything they wish to avoid the rage and annoyance such a second backlash may bring. If you are really that bored, to the point where you canNOT wait and wish to make everyones life a living hell by snapping your whip over the developer's backs, I suggest finding something more entertaining to do.

Like Lovecraft. That way you can torment yourself rather than the devs. Or maybe try out Zelda. Or Mario. Or go to Playstation and try Okami and some of their titles. The worlds a big place, even bigger than Starbound. Or read about the Dragons of Pern. Or even check out Risk of Rains demo! So much stuff you could be doing rather than complaining!

Look at it this way, why perseverate on this matter when you know youll get what you want eventually anyways? Its silly.
