    It hurts your soul.

    It actually hurts your soul...

    Look, it's a game, a lot of people get bored of waiting for Starbound but getting hurt from it, that's unreal and overdramatic.

    There is so much wrong with everything you just said. The whole 'ass kissing replies' bit just clearly shows you're a troll and don't really mean what you just said - you wont end up pirating the game, you know that the game will be worth it.
    Jeez.
    Regarding OP's post, we pretty much know from Tiy's tweets that the game will be released this year. The hype for Starbound is pretty large, they've established a fairly solid community even before the game has come out.

    If one wishes to be showered with praise and kindness, one must first learn to give kindness and praise themselves. Do be kind to those who are different from you.

    I remember becoming OP in a sense when I was waiting for a really good present before Christmastime. I hoped and hoped it would be coming for AGES, it drove me up the wall! Then Christmas, there was a big box under the tree. I opened it, wanting it to be what I wanted so hard....

    A Game Boy Color, with a Legend of Zelda Oracle of Ages gamepack. Right there, thats when I bet I felt like OP. All that waiting and it was all worth it. :)

    Cant wait for Starbound to come! :D

    It's certainty pickle time, oh yeah. Seriously, with the anticipation building so much hype, and the hype its self breeds unwanted attention, it's foolish to think that everybody appreciates such a long and boring slog through the days. This year long wait could be easily summed up as being locked in a vault waist deep with roaches, not fun.

    However while were here, who wants to aid in distracting activities by creating a sci-fi Dwarf Fortress Mod?

    I swear you're doing this for attention. And blatantly suggestion pirating the game on official forums...honestly, don't be surprised if you get banned. But anyway, I'll tell you what I think: the devs have received death threats for not meeting prior deadlines. To think, people that are more extreme than you! Anyway, there's a damn good reason for them to just keep plugging away instead of listening to people like you, they will tell us a release date when they are sure. AND, about Don't Starve. Fantastic game, right? It really is. However, I got SO BORED WIHT IT, because I played it plenty in an unfinished state a couple of updates ago in about January and due to its incomplete feeling and lack of fulfilling content, I got way, way bored of it and hit the progression cap rather quickly. Sure, now there's a little more content and updates but I am wholly uninterested with the game now because it felt so devoid of content and substance when I played it. There wasn't enough to keep me going, unlike games like Minecraft, which somehow did. Super early alpha/beta releases don't work for every game.

    Also, for those that complain about the same-same, boring feeling every day on the forums, and how there doesn't seem to be a lot going on - have you ever thought that maybe, perhaps, it's your choice to log in less often or to just get the newsletter and call it good? Seems like a negative and self-defeating thing you'd be doing if you're sick of the forums yet you keep logging in... Makes me laugh a little, really.

    I'm pretty sure we've all felt what OP did to a certain extent. I mean that's why we're here, right ? And Starbound is not really about filling a hole in your life. It's to fill that... you know... Starbound void.

    Jeesh, doesnt Chambers sound Entitled. :p

    You happen to know that pirating a newly made game is going to be practically impossible at first, means youll have to wait longer, AND be at the mercy of the pirate updaters. Kind of self defeating there if you ask me. And if your talking about pickles, I love Bread and Butter ones on my egg sandwiches. Mmmm.. sandwiches... wish I had food in the house...

    I realise this is your opinion, but I have to disagree.. Right now the game looks absolutely stunning, and I have very high expectations for it's success. :)

    So you're pirating starbound because the developers aren't giving away enough spoilers? Seems like you're overreacting to me.. And the beta is going to be a pre-release reward, so maybe you could gather some patients and wait? :)

    also, the developers don't owe us any information about starbound. They wanted the project to stay in the dark for this exact purpose, but something happened and they just went with it and announced the game. (Maybe someone has the link to what Tiy said about that?)

    Getting too excited for a game is bad, I know the feeling; I was super hyped about Guild Wars 2 and that wasn't nearly as fun as I had imagined it being
    Just calm down and forget about it. One day you'll wake up and find out it's been released, and it'll be a pleasant surprise rather than something you've been waiting on for months

    @nate

    I have keep me logged in checked, as well as the forum bookmarked, so it's not like I'm going through any unnecessary effort to come here and read the same shit time and time again. Perhaps you haven't noticed but I don't post here much, I check up every few weeks to see if anything new has happened but no, nothing new ever happens.
    To address your comments about Don't Starve though, that's unfortunate that you're bored of it, but you see plenty of other people are not. You can't tell me you're oblivious to the sheer number of people uploading videos about the game daily on youtube. It has quite a following from what I can see, and for good reason. However comparing how long a game like that would hold your attention to say, minecraft (I personally don't like minecraft at all but to each their own) is a little unfair. That would be like saying, I dunno, an MMORPG has more in it to keep me going than a game like Mario. Regardless of how good or not good Don't Starve is though is besides the point. The point was that the devs for that game actually provided the public with information. A roadmap of what they've done and what needs to be done. Followed by a release date. Of course, you could argue that figuring out a release date for a game like that would be easier, and you'd be right, but Starbound has had much more time for something like that to be figured out.
    As for the snide comment about me doing this for attention. Please. I could just as easily accuse you of being an attention whore for jumping on anybodies comment that you don't like thinking you're some sort of paragon of justice.

    @Bludud

    No, I'm pirating Starbound because the developers are taking the piss. If they can't even muster up a release date, then that tells me they are nowhere near completion, and if that's the case, then how the fuck did they think they could get the game out by December. How could you mess up that bad.
    Spoilers aren't really an issue either. I plan to play the game like Terraria, so the only thing that could actually be spoiled for me are the boss battles and a few other things such as special events etc.

    @Dzelda

    I don't think asking for something as simple as a semi-accurate release date is a sign of entitlement.
