Killed two of them. Ssstinky Fisssh men sssneaking on board under the guissse of the guard ssspawner.
And the other two are naked.

It getsss weird sssomeimes but if there isss anything I can do about it I not know what.

It will probably get fixed in one of the upcoming hotfixes/updates.

It seems the problem only happens in ships. I just spawned some npcs with clothes in a planet.

It'd be nice to choose their clothes. Imagine giving Star Trek uniforms to your crew. :)

But there is another problem: the turrets are attacking my guards.

You can spawn naked npc's? Oh my, i bet someone is making a "love" dungeon as we speak.

But yea, being able to customize the npc's appearances would be realy nice (i would like to give my guards a standardised uniform for example and it would also suit my char more if they were of the same race).

It would also be nice to be able to give them some limited orders (stand here, dont move or Patrol from here to here, etc).

    Or: kill only hylotls.

I don't think you should be able to change NPC clothes. They're part of the NPC in a way.

On the other hand... alpaca village.

I like the way you think.

Somehow this sounds like a starter point in the direction of suiting up your own NPCs for some reason. I mean why would they be in the buff, when spawned? Could be intended for all we know, even if unlikely; still a possibility. After all eventually we are suppose to be able to house NPCs and they pay rent and the like. So maybe this is a placeholder for when that system/path is more fleshed out...

I just want racial guard spawners. I'm sick of getting knights and tribals when I'm trying to outfit a military bunker. Everything else is icing on the cake for me.

Ssstupid fissshy guards should never come to ssship.

But what if you want to give the special sets to certain npcs (have a halloween party, a hazmat guy in the sewers, a snow infantry guard in cold planets...) or all of your hylotls with samurai armor? Think on the possibilities, clothing your npcs would be really cool. And it 'd be one of those features that wouldn't hurt anyone. If you don't like it, just leave them the way they came.

Maybe if you had to pay them to change outfits. For "normal" clothes they'd accept your bribe and walk around in that from then on, but for more ridiculous clothes (alpaca, horse head mask, etc) they'd probably take a bit more money.

"I might consider changing up my style for a dozen pixels."

"You're going to have to pay me at least 200 pixels if you want me to put that ridiculous thing on."

Agreed, but I personally would rather have the ability to choose the Race and the clothing they use. I don't think we should get to change their appearance though, in that case the randomization of it can give them more personality. And we can always just kill them and reroll the appearance.
