I want temperature and hunger back!

I have only played the new update for a little bit and it all ready upsets me that temperature and hunger have been removed.

These two elements added a a large part to the survival aspect to the game. I remember surviving on an icy, cold planet, using what ever warmth I could find, either it be a torch or a camp fire, then go hunting for animals for food. That to me was really cool. Now with these elements gone I don't feel like a bad-ass survivor.

At least make it a toggle thing or maybe leave it out of casual difficulty.

I have also noticed the animals don't have there random animal noises now, making them less "randomly generated". It was scary going down into a dark cave and hearing an animal screech from the shadows. Now its just cute "poping" noises. I'm okay with these poping noises, just bring back the others too.

And don't think i'm hating the new update. The Novakids are my new favorite race and the upgradible ships are cool too. The ship A.I. adds alot of personality and I can't wait to try out a mission.

But I would love this game to death again if you add temperature and hunger.

    Thanks :)

I would aslo like to add that farming and hunting are now useless because bandages are much easier at acquire.

They said in the Upbeat giraffe changelog that it was removed "For now." So it will be back eventually.

Same here, I was very disappointed when I noticed food and temperature had disappeared in stable release.

Yes this is how i would like to see it return, as opposed to being tied to difficulty setting. I think these mechanics add to the game.

I don't see why you would want those things back... Temperature and hunger just made the game more annoying to play. Temp also made mining more tedious, and it's already tedious enough as they removed ores from asteroids.

I agree, that and temperature was biased towards cold. You could walk on overcooked planets and you wouldn't feel a thing... Head into a snow planet though, and you'll be freezing to death.

Hunger and temperature are things people either get or don't and it's entirely based on how they play video games. People like myself and the op who like immersion and realism in their games are the ones for hunger and temperature. One of the major draws to the game for myself and my community was the notion of being on harsh planets with dangerous environments that forced us to survive. We'd have to stay fed and stay warm. We would have to build or find shelter to shield ourselves from the cold. The first thing I did when I got the game was make warm armor and move to a snow world. I built a house and filled it with heating objects. I actually felt like I was safe inside that building and that there was a threatening cold just outside my walls. It made me feel that when I went outside my doors, I was actually inside a cold environment where I had to be careful. Then I had to be careful not to starve, to care about farming for more than some arbitrary buff. I never found the hunger meter to be a deterrent to the gameplay like it is in Minecraft. Having to stop and eat and stop and eat. That never happened to me. I had food, I had a storage area where I processed it and it never made me go 'ugh, this is annoying' like it has in EVERY OTHER GAME WITH HUNGER.

I have heard that the recent changes made it so all you do is slap on a tech item and you're cold-proof and that hunger is gone. That shot my environmental, immersive, pseudo-roleplaying enjoyment in the face. Some people say it might be back for hardmode. So I might end up having to play hardmode to have hunger and temperature. Great... Modders, hear our cries for help.
