I used to hate it... I tossed it away on a regular basis after digging sessions.

I recently started a new character and I fell in love with it!

But there´s one thing I don´t like about it. The name is too plain for a tool which is that simpel, yet so impressive in what it does.

Can it be renamed into `Aciddisappearium´? :D

It is truly amusing to dig gravel and sand, can't believe a game managed to make digging something that fun.

I agree. I love digging in these areas more every time I play. Until I fall to my death.

The best part is that your character doesn't immediately suffocate when it touches them.

I really hope they don't add a suffocation mechanic. It's so much fun sticking your drill out front and burrowing through sand or gravel like some kind've feathery sandworm, scooping up the juicy morsels of ore as they fall out into your pockets

Its there already though. It just takes time for it to trigger. Which is fine.

    They need sand/gravel planets.

    Nuf' said.

Whenever I start a new character I go and hunt for a small desert planet as my first stop to sand surf for coal/copper/iron.

Sand surfing is so much fun when your starting out to see 300+ metal in your bags after digging though a desert planet.

I'm glad Sand and Gravel works MUCH better than Terraria's equivalent.

I hated how one or two blocks falling down on you meant death when you first start out if you didn't move fast enough, and how a huge wall of sand was "Uh, no thanks" because that crap was ANNOYING to deal with.

In Starbound, I love seeing Sand/Gravel with ore mixed in. I love it! And if it is ever in the way where it is causing a problem, then I'll just mine it out, it is fast and easy to mine too.
