Ah. I can try it on my game I suppose, I've got a coop with some free space. This would be a really good workaround for getting the products without having to buy the animal. Don't want to raise rabbits just for the feet? Just buy a chicken, name it Rabbit's Foot (well, the number for Rabbit's Foot) and voila! Instant bundle item. >u<
LOL, every year I decide to put Mayor Lewis' shorts in the Grange Display, and every year I try to open CJB's Item Spawner mod while I'm already at the Fair, and every year I discover that the mod won't open during the Fair. @PTpirahna -- do tell, what score did you get?
Huh, I just tried to copy and paste [789] into the name, to see if it was just because of my keyboard that I couldn't type [ ]. (Took me way too long to remember copy pasta was a thing. I'm tired xD ) And it worked. Both the copy pasta and the exploit, it sure works I named a chicken [789] and recieved a pair of lucky purple shorts.
You can effectively create items this way. I just made a prismatic shard using [74] as the chickens name. But it seems you cannot name another chicken that same name. So I believe you would have to sell it and do so again. Testing more item id's. EDIT: Just completed the collection for the museum using this. On PS4. EDIT 2: if there was a full list of every id in the game you could make whatever you want. For example, the golden clock, junimo huts, etc. EDIT 3: I believe I've stumbled across another fun detail. Adding more than one id gives you however many item id's you've included. Example: named a chicken [74][999] and ended up getting an error item and a prismatic shard. This could be a way to get multiple items from one purchase.
What happens to the items when you buy them this way? Are they just sitting on the floor of your barn/coop when you go in or does it put it in your inventory? If you go pick it up does the game now think your barn is empty again?
The item is given to you in your inventory upon completion of the transaction. And, you will have a new chicken in your coop. So you will have to clear it out to continue once it's filled. Or if you have multiple you can use a different one. But you'll have to clear it out eventually. Also, using a keyboard helps with adding multiple amounts to the name. You hold shift and use the directional buttons to highlight your code. Then hit shift+c then shift + v to copy and paste. Still working on the limit to this. I crashed the game a moment ago placing too many id's on a single chicken. Nevermind. Doesn't seem to make multiples of the same item of you use more than one of the id. But you can get multiple items of varying id's under one chicken.
Wasn't me. Lol I just started playing with it. but it is fun. Gives you a little boost to completing that all elusive museum collection. Or getting certain gifts and items for npcs that may be out of season. Although, still working on how one could use it to earn currency. Figured this little trick would be key to that end. Lol EDIT: this is a tricky little cheat. Multiples of everything seems impossible right now. I'll mess with it later. Tried several tricks. Multiples items like id 72 and 74. But alternating to see if the game could be tricked to think it should add another to the stack. Instead it crashed. This thing is touchy.
I'd mostly just use it to get milk and eggs for cooking, it'd be nice to not have to actually build barns/coops and raise the animals if I just wanted to do a huge vineyard or orchard farm. You can get around the other stuff easily enough if you get lucky with the traveling cart but you still need milk and eggs for the recipes. I wish we could just buy small milk and eggs from Marnie directly. The bundles don't call for the small versions anyway so you couldn't use it to rush the CC stuff.
I'm personally not going to use it. I've never seen the fun in just "cheating" your way through a game, singleplayer or multiplayer. It takes away the feeling of accomplishment and I like the feeling of accomplishment But it's a funny exploit, who would have imagined naming an animal an item ID would give you that item? That's just weird xD How do people even figure stuff like this out?
The whole scene at the fair if you display the mayor's shorts is hilarious. Especially Marnie's delusional denial. It also makes me a bit worried about her mental health. It may be time for Lewis to piss or get off the pot. :/
I actually haven't seen this, is there a video somewhere? lol I didn't even know this was something you could do. >u< EDIT: Okay I found a video on youtube, I think it'll start at the right spot here but if not, go to 2:56. This is hilarious. Purple lettuce indeed. lol
God I got a good laugh out of this. Also that little item creation code seems pretty amazing. I'll never use it or it would just spoil the vibe for me but it is still a very neat trick. So what kind of rating does that yield? He does rate it at the end doesn't he? Your display I mean. Never mind, I just saw the video. That is absolutely hilarious. At first I thought it was just amusing to see it done, but to find out CA predicted this and rewarded it? Brilliant.
It was actually not in the first release of the game and was added after some suggestions by some fans on a Reddit thread that caught CA's attention. Less a case of 'CA thinks of everything' and more a case of 'CA likes his fans and is willing to take good advice from them'. https://www.reddit.com/r/StardewVal...le_display_at_stardew_valley_fair_im/d1439oh/
I understand. I only do it on games after I've beaten them and have a save I mess with. I never use em on games I've never beaten.
^ I'm getting awfully tempted to use this to get my hands on a plum. I'm in the second week of Fall and I haven't found a single one aside from the one that's currently spawned out of reach. I can't make Fall seeds cuz I can't find any plums. >.<
