Modding Help I need help with: very basic weapon scripting

    Hello starbounders ,
    I'm starting to mod and I'm having a hard time with the activeitems files
    Can you guys give me a very basic weapon scripting : I mean a gun and a sword without any effect on it like animations or special attacks

    Have you unpacked your assets yet? If so, look in the protecterate weapon files. They are Un-randomized weapons.
    If you have not unpacked your assets yet, I suggest doing that.

    I unpacked my assets and I took inspiration from the "vintage scoped sniper rifle" in order to make my first custom sniper rifle , that I will release soon
    I just took a quick look at the protectorate weapons and they look basic enough for me , add custom effect and all will be easy , I tried to download a lot of mods from the nexus to see how it work but they were all outdated so thank you for the advice I just found what I needed

    Np. If you download mods to see how they work, best to stick to popular ones from this forum. At least you know they are updated.

    you are right , staround nexusmod is dead anyway
