I need a remedy.

I find its easier to simply ignore the forums and website Afew weeks. Then if your lucky you'll have a whole bunch of news and forum stuff to read and enjoy. It gives you some entertainment and something to look forward to each month. A monthly bump till the release if you will.

even though he does sometimes make some good points, he's generally a huge jerk and a penguin if you catch my drift.

He used to post in some other forums that I went on, and was generally a hateful and egotistical guy who literally made paragraphs and paragraphs why he didn't like a random person in the forum.

He got banned there a few times and later came back and said something along the lines of "everyone there is terrible and stupid except me" and then was done.

 

It's because a lot of people think he's an ignorant git...

...This is only partially true. He's usually just a misinformed git. The guy actually gives really, really good reviews and perspectives on things when he does his homework fully, or someone bothers to actually sit down with him and explain crap to him.

Sadly, he's one of those reviewers that often goes and rides his first impression of something off into the sunset, which doesn't tend to end well...

tl;dw ( too long; didn't watch lol) anywho.
It's a video about him taking down one of his videos because he knows that it wasn't up to par with their standards. He may be distasteful and come off as arrogant, but not ignorant.
In some of his vids he clearly acknowledges that he has some personal flaws himself. If he does some junk which people dislike, well it's either he's just butthurt pissed or people are actually blind.

Ugh I knew this was going to derail, apologies all but I suppose we're all allowed to display our opinions. Just please heads up if my posts need to be deleted.

 

I'm visiting these forum for over a year now. Didn't make an account from day one . I'm hoping to find an accurate release date every single day. Since Last Christmas i even expect it to be magically released every day now. But so far it never happened. The only remedy to the wait for Starbound is... Starbound. I need it. Soon.

 

no no, like I said, I agree, I don't think he's stupid. I think when he chooses to he can make some smart points, but it's not enough for me to get past his arrogance and distastefulness as you put it. It's good that he at least apologized for that video, but eh. I'd say instead of apologizing he should really just learn to be a bit nicer and seem less full of himself.

I don't really think there's much else to be said on the subject though. I see what you're saying and like I said I agree, I don't think he's the worst end all person on the planet (he's no phil fish or pewdiepie so that's a plus.) but I can't get past all the dumb and jerky things he's said in the past. Even in the recent tweets about Starbound he didn't seem grateful and was genuinely kind of a jerk there too.

 

i find that playing interesting and difficult games keeps me from going Star-crazy.

...Know what? Let's hope Starbound is another Runner 2 for him. I know, I know, it's unlikely as hell. But still, he COULD give us a good review, if everything is okay to him. Think positively, man. Where is all your faith in Starbound's awesomeness?

I suppose it's just people who take major offence over things that happened on the internet and don't really matter as much as they think it does. It's almost funny to see how easily people will take things personally and will do anything they can to voice their opinion because honestly, no-one really cares because they keep moaning so much. It's okay not to like him, but going on about it as much as they do is laughable.

 

I just keep checking the website in the hopes that one day, I'll see that the beta got released.

After which I will promptly shut myself off from human contact for several weeks playing Starbound.

 

It is senile that people who already have loads of subs get an early version of the game to get more subs while other non-famous reviewers have to wait to get the last bits in the pan. Not really considerate of the devs in my opinion even a bit ignorant especially giving it to someone that repulsive..

 

Are you sure that was TotalBiscuit and not some person looking to throw dirt on his name? Some people are capable of doing that you know. I highly doubt an intelligent person like him would stoop to such a level consistantly. I remember I used to do it, but no more. You may have been flim-flammed by a doppelganger. Just remember, the internet is a place of anonymity, which is why we can be so vocal to begin with -w-

Some people will take advantage of that to do damage to peoples reputations.

As for you OP. I have a sweet remedy for you. Go outside. Breathe the fresh air. Watch Carl Sagans Cosmos. The emotions evoked in watching such a captivating series mirrors Starbounds quite profoundly.

 

Nah. I only feel it when I think that I will probably be away from a computer for 7 weeks when it is released.
